I happened to come across Abercrombie’s Fall Preview the other day, and it had me dreaming of Pumpkin Spice Lattes even though the temps are super high. Not that I want summer to end (never!), but these cozy fabrics and comfy loungewear sets are all so good.
Soft & Cozy: My Favorites From Abercrombie’s Fall Preview
Abercrombie has always done denim really well, but right now I’m also loving their softAF fabrics, plus puffers and parkas that are all at really good sale prices. (We’re talking like 50% off introductory price offers–the same percentage they offered during Black Friday, but without the sellout…yet.) I ordered a bunch of stuff to try on and wanted to share my favorites with you guys–but you can check out their whole Fall Preview line here.
I missed out on this one last year, so I’m glad I got the chance to snag it this year (and on sale!). I was a bit worried it was going to look like a shiny garbage bag, but the faux leather was nice and not cheap looking at all. I love the collar on this puffer…and the brown faux fur is gorgeous, too. I sized down to an xs for a tighter fit, but I’m thinking a small might have been better for length. (Can anyone spy a little boy in the background?)
I LOVE these jeans, but they were too small (they run about one size too small or I’ve gained more weight than I thought during quarantine). I’ll get the next size up, though, because I love the classic cut and wash of these: high-waisted with a straight leg that flares slightly towards the bottom. (And I really liked the butt on them!) They have 1% elastane for just the barest hint of stretch (not totally rigid) and the length is 32″ (perfect for me to wear heels like I am here). Abercrombie always does denim really well. (They also come in a lighter wash with holes.)
This top is soft. I sized up for a bigger fit and I’m glad I did–I can wear it tied up or untucked and both work. The sleeves are long (but not too long) and they have a mid-button, as well as buttons at the cuff and they’re easy to roll up. It comes in a number of different flannel patterns, but I liked that this one didn’t scream holiday to me. (I spy a baby head!)
These vegan leather pants are so fun. They’re stretchy and soft on the inside–but they have a bit of a weird faux leather smell (if you have jackets that have that smell, you know what I mean). If you’re not into the faux leather but like the general fit, this pair is almost identical. I like the belted waist and the pleats are surprisingly flattering, especially if you have a little bit of a tummy. (I ordered the medium and they were a bit too big–I should have followed their sizing chart and gone with a small.) This turtleneck is the perfect layering piece–it’s thin enough to tuck in but not too clingy. I wouldn’t call it “drapey,” but it is super-soft and comfortable. (A great alternative to bodysuits!)
Love. Throw it on over PJs for coffee in the morning or layer it over…anything, really. It’s that super-soft material (their softAF fabric) that feels so good on your skin. I’m wearing it over their Cozy Sleep Joggers (sold out in this color) and Cozy Sleep Cami, all in camel brown, but you can see the color of the cardigan is slightly different. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable.
I wanted to try the sleep joggers in a small and a medium because I wasn’t sure which ones would fit the best, but they both work. The medium (above in tan) is slightly slouchier and the small (below) is more fitted–just depends on how you like your joggers to fit. I pretty much love all of their cozy stuff because of the fabric.
Slightly higher in the front than the back with a side slit for a flattering fit–they call this a tee, but the material is more like a sweater-sweatshirt and definitely not as thin as a typical t-shirt. I love the collar because it’s not a super high-neck turtleneck, but it’s not a shorter mock-neck either. Pretty much the comfiest top ever, and it’ll go with everything from shorts to jeans to leggings, and of course, joggers.
I included a shout-out to these jeans in my original Abercrombie Mom Jeans Review when I hadn’t yet tried them and wanted to let you guys know I love them! I couldn’t really decide between their curve love mom jeans and regular mom jeans, and these are a nice combination of the two. This wash is almost sold out, but they also come in black (on sale for just over $20 right now!), an ’80s acid wash, and a pleated waist version. The top is really soft (I sense a theme here, right??), and I sized up to a medium and it was perfect. It doesn’t cling but can still be tucked in without bulking up…and it’s on sale for under $15 right now.
