We are VERY excited in this household about this collaboration between Voloshin and The Mom Edit. Well…if by “this household” I actually mean just me…and well…maybe my husband too, because now that the collection is here, he won’t have to listen to me asking him “Should I ask Shana again when it’s getting here? Am I being annoying? Do you think she thinks I’m being annoying? I’m being annoying, huh?”

Linen Tops & Dresses: More To Love In The Voloshin X TME Collab

The most exciting piece of the collection for me is the Lulu Maxi Dress that I devoted an entire dressing room selfie post to here. I would like to live in this dress ALL summer long, but I’ve come to term with the fact that I do occasionally want to wear my fav comfy denim and my fav comfy stretchy pants, so I suppose I need a top to wear with them. And…I suppose another fabulous dress to switch it up a bit might be nice, too. Ahhh…this collection, of course, fulfills these desires as well.

I keep coming back to the word “special.” It’s how I describe many of the Voloshin pieces I own. They are the pieces I gravitate to in my closet…the pieces that not only feel amazing to the touch, but also make me feel special when I wear them.

1. The Bliss Linen Bow-Shoulder Top in White: My Fav Of This Collab

I didn’t love this top when I first tried it on. It is now, however, my top pick from this collection (other than the Lulu Maxi Dress). This is in no way your run-of-the-mill fast fashion top. It is designed to be special, and that’s what took me a bit to get used to. It is voluminous and cut to have some air in the fit. Now that I’ve stopped trying to get it to lie flat, I love it! It’s easy to wear tucked in or loose, the linen is beautiful, and the ties make it feel even more special (if the gorgeous linen and design wasn’t enough.) ALSO, I just discovered I can wear it with a regular bra AND I can tie it like a halter top (both super exciting for me).

2.The Tate Linen One-Shoulder Dress in Black – My Second Favorite

This dress is somehow elegant yet casual, special yet laid-back, and glamorous yet easy. Pretty much Voloshin’s specialty. It’s made from the same gorgeous linen as the tie top and feels amazing to wear. The fit for me, though, is a bit challenging. I’m pretty small on top and even thought I’m wearing an XS, the top of the dress is still a little too big. It has to be positioned just right for it to stay in place. A little tuck from the seamstress, though, and I think it will be perfect. While I’m there, I’m likely going to have her take it up just a bit on the hem too. As someone with short legs and curvy calves (who likes wearing flat sandals instead of heels), I think making it a bit shorter will make it more flattering on me. Thoughts?

3. The Bliss Linen Bow-Shoulder Top in Black — A Solid Maybe

This top is just as fabulous as the white one, but I’m just personally more likely to wear a white top in summer than black. I am definitely tempted, though, to keep them both. I’m especially loving the black top with black denim or black pants, and fun accessories….and with the discovery that I can tie it like a halter top, it does make it even more versatile.

4. The Tate Linen One-Shoulder Dress in White — A No For Me

I’m not a white dress gal. Besides the fact that I DEFINITELY should have steamed this before taking photos (sorry, guys!)…white linen dresses just aren’t my usual style. It’s a really pretty dress, though, for those of you who like white dresses in the summer. Shana looks GORGEOUS in hers!

*Note on Size Range

As much as I personally love the Voloshin x TME Summer 2020 Collection, I would be remiss to not acknowledge that I am disappointed in the range of sizes. There was a miscommunication along the way, and the plus sizing that was planned was not produced. Our apologies to anyone who is excluded from these pieces due to sizing. TME will absolutely feature gorgeous options for you from other retailers this summer, and do our best to ensure more inclusive size options in future TME collaborations.
