If you were to walk into my husband’s closet, you would see a bold letter “V” printed on nearly every item of clothing he owns. I’m not lying to you when I say that a solid 85 percent of his entire wardrobe is from one brand, and one brand alone.
What brand could possibly be that good?
For The Work Hard, Play Hard Man, Vuori Clothing Is Versatile & Comfortable
My husband Paul embodies the saying “work hard, play hard” quite well. He works so diligently at the multiple businesses he runs, then can go hard for hours mountain biking, running and surfing, and even has all the time for hikes and stroller jogs with our fast-growing baby boy and me. Paul runs his life at about a million miles per minute and prefers to wear clothing as comfortable and light as possible while doing so…but with pieces that don’t have to be changed out until it’s time to shower.
Let me make something very clear, though: Paul is a guy who cares about what he’s wearing. The man has Opinions. He hasn’t purchased clothing from the same brand for the last five years because he’s lazy or because it’s easy. Paul absolutely refuses to be uncomfortable and I’ve watched him give away clothing from other brands faster than it took to buy them–even if those pieces were a gift. He knows what he likes and he knows what he needs. What he likes (and needs) is versatility without sacrificing comfort.
Vuori happens to be unmatched in both.
5-Inch Inseam Shorts, Tees That Don’t Get Stinky & The Pants That Sealed The Deal
Paul can’t remember specifically what his first Vuori purchase was, but he knows it was a pair of shorts. When he never took them off we realized he needed a few more. What he truly wears more might be a toss up, but I think it’s the 5″ Kore Short (also comes in a longer length) — he claims they “feel like heaven.”
Both the Kore and Banks shorts come in a shorter 5” length, but the classic length gives you a little more coverage at 7.5”.
Vuori’s tech tee and performance tee are…how do I put this simply…the greatest thing to happen to men’s athletic apparel? And that’s because THEY DON’T GET STINKY (you know how some athletic shirts are impossible to wash out smells? Ugh, yuck). Not even after a 30-mile run, which Paul just took a few months back (to celebrate his birthday. I know, that’s not how I would celebrate either, but to each their own). He wore the Tradewind Performance Tee and the Kore Short commando (of which zero chafing occurred — this is a big deal).
If your man leans less ultra marathons and more a day on the green, this polo is super-soft, UPF 30+, and begging for a few rounds of golf. It would even be the dream shirt for the office, especially if he likes to go straight to a workout after he clocks out or is always complaining when he has to “look nice” for social gatherings!
Normally with other brands, even if Paul were to love some of the pieces, he rarely has success with pants. My husband doesn’t have a stick-straight figure, and often has a hard time finding pants that fit well in his thighs and booty. It was probably the moment he realized Vuori’s Ripstop Climber pants fit him exceptionally well — even in the thighs — that sealed the deal for the brand becoming his staple.
Fit Notes: Paul is 6’2″ and wears size large in all tops and bottoms.
Vuori wears incredibly, washes wonderfully, and lasts, well….Paul’s going on five years strong with a few items. If he had to choose a fav piece, it’s the Strato Tech Tee and the Ripstop Traveler Jogger (but then after a few minutes said “wait, what am I saying it’s the Kore Short in the 5″ length!”), so clearly, it’s hard to choose.
Those Vuori Ponto Shorts, Tho
While the shorter length is Paul’s preference, he makes an exception for the Ponto Short because “they’re that good” (and are currently only sold with the 7.5″ inseam). They are made from that buttery soft material Vuori became famous for with their performance jogger. The Ponto is not only ideal for everyday living, but perfect for sleep and road trips during these warmer months. They would honestly make the BEST gift for the man in your life! Whether he’s opinionated, hates clothes, or totally loves them, any and all of these pieces will win him over.
Remember The Women’s Activewear, Too
The bonus? Vuori crushes in the women’s department, too, so go ahead and add a few things to cart for yourself, babe! This matching Sunnyside Short and Crew is deliciously comfortable and naturally oversized, you could even size down one if you prefer something a bit more TTS.
Fit Notes: I’m wearing a medium in both and could totally have done smalls; I have the shorts drawstring cinched all the way, but everything else I own from Vuori I find to be TTS and typically order larges in tops and mediums in bottoms.
This set is perfect for the car, the couch, and even Sunday morning grocery shopping. But I suppose it’s also hard to choose a fav, because I’m a longtime lover of the Performance Jogger (also comes in long lengths!) and Daily Legging, too. Soooo…
What’s really rad is that if you’re not as confident in knowing you’ll love the brand as much as Paul, you don’t have to worry. Vuori is all about the ‘Investment in Happiness.’ Not only is that a philosophy in how they do business, care for their team, the natural environment and their community — but it’s their product guarantee. Put simply…if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, send it back. “When you’re happy, we’re happy.” Returns are free (and so is shipping when you spend over $75)! Investing in Happiness has never been so sweet (or comfortable)!
