It’s funny to read Amy’s recent post about how Athleta had never been her thing, but this time something changed, and now she’s in love. Amy, let me tell you…you’re not the only one. Same here.
The only difference with Amy is that she has the longest legs, while I have the shortest ones — which isn’t an issue, thanks to Athleta’s tall and petite offerings.
I even put together a little Athleta capsule wardrobe, so I can mix and match anything here.
My New Obsession With Athleta’s Petite Athleisure + Workout Clothing: A Try-On
Please know that I’m particular about the colors I wear, and I can determine if something will stay in my closet by color alone. All of these pieces come in other beautiful colors in case you prefer different shades for your complexion.
So, without further ado, the clothing I’ll show you below are the first Athleta pieces I’m considering adding to my closet, and I’m obsessed with them.
1. New Favorite Warm Leggings: Athleta Rainier Tights
I love to work out in the cold, and the plush SuperSonic fabric of these Athleta leggings are just what I need. They’re delicious while having the most amazing lines and fit. I’m obsessed!
2. Even-Warmer Leggings: Athleta Altitude Stash Tights
Compared with the Rainier tights above, these Altitude Stash Tights are even warmer thanks to the Polartec fleece fabric. The ones above only had a brushed inside, which is great, but if you want warmer these are it.

3. Not Your Usual Performance Top: Athleta Flurry Seamless Henley
This henley is a stunner and looks so cool in each color available. The Heron Blue is so good, but I’d look like a ghost in it, so I went for the gorgeous Ancient Mahogany. I love the design, the snaps, the thumbholes and how flattering it is.
4. Athleta Flare Pants: Elation vs. Salutation
Flare pants are back, and I can’t get enough of them. After what feels like an eternity of skintight leggings, my legs are craving some freedom. I love how Athleta’s Elation and Salutation flare pants feel fresh and even a little more put together than regular leggings.

The difference? The side seams and pockets. I kept the Elation pants (with the pockets, in black) — I went for the Salutation for the Cabernet Spice color. But between us I prefer the Elation a little bit more. I love the pockets, and I’m deciding between the olive or mahogany for my next addition.
5. The Perfect Long-Sleeved Top: Athleta Whistler Mock-Neck Top
This mock-neck top is that perfect layer to wear between your sports bra and top layer, whether that’s fleece, a puffer jacket or a long coat. I have the same “rules” to wear leggings as Shana, and a slightly boxy and shorter top is what I like to wear with my leggings (something about the longer top with my short legs doesn’t look proportionate).
Now that this shirt in Ancient Mahogany finally made it to me (sorry I didn’t get to show it), I’m keeping it. I love the white one too, and the light blue is gorgeous but not for me.
6. The Prettiest Trench: Athleta Stellar Trench
What first drew me in to Athleta’s Stellar Trench was that Ancient Mahogany color (also in black) because as much as I love trench coats, they usually come in those lighter camels or khaki colors, which are super-draining on complexions like mine. Once it got here, the back detail and quality wowed me.

I’m still not sure about keeping it — the color is a little softer in person, and I prefer a more saturated version. But if I’m being honest, I’m being extra-picky, so I will take some time to style it things in my closet and finally make a decision.
7. Warm + Chic: Athleta Stroll Fleece
This cozy fleece jacket has all I want in a fleece. Light, warm, soft and structured, it’s one of those jackets that makes you feel put-together.

This jacket is one of the pieces with fewer color options, but it’s a good one, especially if you have some warmth in your complexion. It comes in brown and green, but I hope they make it in more colors because it’s a gorgeous and practical fleece jacket. Now look how fine it looks under a long coat:

I’m over the moon to finally find some Athleta clothing I’m completely in love with. I hope you don’t get tired of seeing them here ’cause I’ll be posting about them for a long while.
What are your favorite Athleta pieces at the moment? I’d love to know.
