This year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been such a different experience for me. I typically walk out of the #NSale with plenty of things that excite me but this year, I was disappointed I couldn’t buy more.
Sadly, I didn’t find a single pair of jeans that worked for me this year. I attribute that largely to Nordstrom dropping so many of their plus-size jean offerings shortly after the preview went live. I also was bummed to see that Tory Burch and Ganni were absent from this year’s sale, and I had a really difficult time finding boots that actually worked for my wider (but technically not wide) feet.
I did, however, manage to end up with six looks I love.
6 Fierce On-Trend Outfits With Hot Girl Summer Fall Vibes: A Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022 Try-On
I brought home some of the most iconic jackets ever. All of them are totally going to be statement-makers for my fall and winter wardrobe. I could actually write a love story about this Avec Les Filles patchwork puffer coat. I initially saw it online, and thought, ‘mehhh, it’s okay, but I don’t think it really speaks to me’ and moved on. But as it turns out, this dreamy quilted puffer and I were destined to be star-crossed lovers. As I was taking a quick strut to the mimosa station, I saw her — the puffer jacket of my dreams. The jacket I never knew I needed, the jacket that just makes me feel So Damn Happy. Needless to say, the Avec Les Filles patchwork puffer is my absolute fave from this year’s Anniversary Sale.
Another stand-out find to me (on sale, just not in the #NSale), are these ’70s-inspired suede Chloe mules (it was love at first sight). You’ll see them make an appearance in a number of my looks below because all “Hot Girls” need some stellar designer shoes to round out their wardrobes. (PS. They’re also on sale at Saks.)
No matter where I’m headed this fall, I love to dress it up. Like I’ve said before…I love a good Whole Foods outfit and the rest of these #NSale looks are no different!
So here’s to a Hot Girl Fall!
1. Hot Girl Stunts On Friends At Brunch

There are two things I’m obsessed with: bottomless mimosas and a good Hot Girl skirt. Good American’s black rib midi skirt is the kind of skirt that you can wear without shapewear (yay!) and still look snatched. It’s made from an ultra-stretchy material and comfortable enough for all-day wear. The lettuce hemline is an iconic nod to the ’90s, and I absolutely love how sexy this below-the-knee skirt makes me feel. Add a graphic tee and a cute bag and you are all set.

Now for the perfect topper: This grass green trench coat is EVERYTHING! It’s giving me “That Girl” London vibes, and I absolutely love how it makes a simple outfit feel like a total stunner. And when the season officially changes to all-things-pumpkin-spice-latte, you can bet I will be wearing this with just about every outfit in my closet.

2. Hot Girl Drops By The Office

I am a heels girl through and through. I love any shoe that gives me height, which is likely because I have slight Tall Girl Envy. I’m always looking to add a few extra inches to my 5’2″, ultra-curvy frame, which is why heels and platform shoes are my fashion besties. Some of my most-worn heels (because they are hella comfortable for all-day wear) are from Dolce Vita. I’ve worn these exact Dolce Vita heels to weddings and danced the night away, and was still comfortably walking by the end of the night! A total win for heels…
The Pama Sandals that are in the sale are technically the same 3 ¼-inch height as the Dolce Vita heels I wear to special occasions but IMO, they feel like they might be a half-inch lower. They are just as comfortable for all-day wear, and perfect for a little Hot Girl trot into the office! I am in love with the sea foam green color, which Dolce Vita coined Stella Sage, and will be wearing the heck out of these.

Add a great suede moto jacket and a pair of mules, and you’ve transformed this summer office look to the Hot Girl Fall version. These ’70s Chloe mules are such an incredible price when it comes to designer fashion, and I am in LOVEEEE with them! They are beyond comfortable…so on-trend for the season. I’ve seen platform mules popping up all over the runways of Gucci, Prada and Versace, and this pair from Chloe are my favorite of any I’ve seen.
Oh and PS. The crop top I’m wearing was my most-affordable purchase from the sale at $22!
3. Hot Girl Goes To Whole Foods

I love a good grocery store outfit. It’s honestly one of my favorite places to get dressed up for, especially if it’s Whole Foods. While this ‘fit isn’t a dressed to the nines look, it is giving off “That Girl” vibes. She’s effortlessly chic while she shops for her weekly kale and green juices.
4. Hot Girl Has Courtside Seats
Even when I was freshly out of college with no courtside-ticket income, I still found myself scoring courtside seats and exclusive experiences for free! Let’s just say I’ve always had a special talent for being in the right place at the right time, and have made some incredible connections with people who would just-so-happen to have an extra ticket for me. So, it’s only fitting to have a look completely dedicated to my courtside scores.
These cropped faux leather pants are exactly what I would want to wear courtside. The metal gun detailing and exaggerated pockets make for a more interesting design, and they perfectly hug my curves. I paired them with one of my favorite tops from AllSaints that I actually bought at last year too. This year I opted for a more timeless black rather than the olive green tie dye I purchased in last year’s sale.

This is the puffer coat I was talking about earlier. It’s the jacket of my dreams, a fresh take on winter wear, and I am OBSESSED! I personally think that one of the best styling tips for ultra-curvy girls like me is to find puffer coats that are slightly more cropped than average, and this Avec Les Filles patchwork puffer is just that. It sits right at the base of my waist and gives my body a more hourglass shape when it’s zipped.
I mean come on…isn’t this pattern just amazing?! It’s giving Hot-Girl-Meets-Coastal-Grandma-Chic, and I am 100% here for it.
5. Hot Girl Goes To A Barbecue

Yep, I am that girl who would wear white and faux leather shorts to a BBQ. While most people wouldn’t risk wearing white to a sticky, hot event that is a barbecue, it’s never bothered me. Likely because I so rarely spill anything on myself, but maybe that will change if I ever have kiddos.
Admittedly, I only recently learned of Proenza Schouler White Label, and when I saw this tote in the #NSale preview mailer, I knew I needed to have it. This bag is by far the absolute BEST bag I have ever purchased during an Anniversary Sale. It’s ultra-oversized, and the detail of it simply stunning. It’s an ultimate Hot Girl travel bag and great for carrying everything you need. I love the color combo too, and can affirm that it will be a part of my forever-closet bag collection.
These Halogen faux leather shorts were one of my top choices from the #NSale preview, and I was so excited that they were as good as I was hoping. They are my favorite length when it comes to summer shorts, and they have a more a-line style fit to them.
While I am absolutely keeping these faux leather shorts, there are a few things I don’t love. The back pockets are much smaller than I would like and are slightly farther apart than I like them to sit on my bum. I don’t love that you can see the stitched lining of the front pockets peeking through. That said, I am still keeping them because I have been looking for a pair of shorts like these, and the length and overall fit is the best I have found for plus-size babes, plus you can’t beat a $38 dollar price tag!
6. Hot Girl Goes To The Hardware Store
Remember when I said I am a heels girl?! I wasn’t kidding, because I have worn these clear heels to Home Depot before, and I don’t regret it. I am so glad I finally tried something from Cinq A Sept! This is my favorite sweater from the entire Anniversary Sale. The color is so pretty! I especially love how it looks on my caramel macchiato skin tone.
I think the detailing of the Cinq A Sept baby blue sweater is so beautiful! I can’t wait to style this up a bunch of different ways for the colder months ahead.
Even though I feel like my purchases this year were far fewer than in years’ past, I absolutely love the gems I found. The pieces I purchased felt a lot more like statement pieces that I will be keeping and wearing for years to come, and I couldn’t be happier with what I found to fulfill my Hot Girl dreams.
As always, feel free to drop any questions you have for me in the comments! I’m always happy to answer them. Thanks so much for all of your support, we so appreciate you all!
