I’m always on the hunt for a fantastic dress I can wear on repeat during the warm weather months. I specifically search for one that won’t have any risk of wardrobe malfunctions, is comfortable enough for a lazy summer day, and is easy to move in.
Bonus points if it can be worn both to a wedding and casually any ol’ day.
Last summer I found one from Free People that I adored, so I decided to go back to the source to see if I could find one or two more dresses that I could wear this next season, whether to the farmers’ market or music festivals…perhaps even as a bathing suit cover-up.
A Midi, A Maxi, A Mini & A T-Shirt Dress: 4 Gorg Summer Dresses At Free People (& How I’m Styling Them)
I tried on the super-popular Feeling Groovy Maxi Dress that I’ve seen ALL over social media, as well as the Charlie Tee Dress, Marais Printed Midi Dress, and the Daisy Jane Long Sleeve Midi. There was definitely a stand-out favorite, watch my latest video for all the details!
Feeling Groovy Maxi – This is such a popular dress! I’ve seen it splashed beautifully all over my social media channels, and I’m so happy I finally tried it in person! It’s light, comes with a slip for extra coverage, and could easily be worn with a belt for a little something different.
Charlie Tee Dress – I had this in my cart last spring only to see it sell out before I could hit purchase! Free People brought it back in a few more colors this year, but I don’t expect it to last. It’s the PERFECT t-shirt dress, in my opinion.
Marais Printed Midi Dress – I was thoroughly surprised by this dress and after styling it up give it an 11/10. This one is perfect for a music festival, weekend farmer’s markets, and even a spring wedding!
Daisy Jane Long Sleeve Minidress – If there’s a mini dress that’s easy to wear, it’s this one. The fabric is silky and a bit heavier, which helps it stay put when you’re moving or it’s windy outside. This would also be adorable as a tunic top with denim shorts or jeans, and because of the soft fabric, you could easily do a cute little front tuck!
Veja Sneakers – If you’ve never tried Veja sneakers, they’re a must for pairing with summer dresses. They are responsibly made with high-quality leather that molds to your feet, making them an incredibly perfect and comfortable shoe (and breaking them in doesn’t take long)!
Sandal – A favorite slide of mine, I swear these can be paired with anything.
Cowboy Boots (similar) – I have a major crush on western boots (and style in general), and while mine were a gift from my husband, there are a great handful of super-similar ones, including the pair I’m linking here.
Converse – High-top converse sneakers are a closet staple for me. I’ve been wearing them since middle school and don’t plan to stop anytime soon.
Hat – The perfect wide-brimmed hat completes any outfit, at least for me. This one has been one of my most-worn, and the brand is a go-to for me since they make their hats in sizes (I have a large head).

Amy
