My Most-Used Trick To Transition My Summer Uniform To Fall

I wanted to talk a bit about transitioning my most-worn outfit into cooler Fall temps.

“Hmmm…” I thought.  “Maybe I’ll add a scarf.  And boots.  I do love me some scarves and boots…”

But there was a niggling little memory in the recesses of my brain….and when I booted up an old laptop, I found this:

Oh for cryin’ out loud.  I did this already, last summer.

Outfit Details

top: old Free People, see below for a few additional options

shorts: old Abercrombie (funny – they don’t make their own anymore…the site is just selling One Teaspoon Bandits now)

boots: Sole Society Natasha Boot c/o

backpack: Makr Farm Rucksack

scarf: old, but am still dying for this camel and red one

glasses:  Warby Parker Preston

bracelet: chan luu

Can I still blame chemo brain?  And it might be wishful thinking, but I swear I look so much healthier now.  Or at least slightly less tired.

Outfit Details

top: old, see below for more

shorts: One Teaspoon Bandit (size 25) – a few additional sizes on sale at Shopbop

shoes: Vans

bag: DVF c/o – long sold out, but this is a seriously roomy and fabulous tote.  I’m also loving this red, studded batik DVF tote that’s currently on sale.  Same shape, different color and print.

sunnies: Classic Ray-bans

ANYWAY.  Cool boots and big scarves – transitioning my summer uniform to fall since 2014.  SIGH.

I need a Monday do-over.

Oh shoot – I almost forgot:  THE TOPS

None are exact, but I tried to find tops with either a similar shape or a similar vibe.  Enjoy!

  1. You have a happy, healthy, “refreshed” glow now vs. last summer. Yay! And can we talk about those legs. Damn mama. Hottie hotness!!! Keep doin’ what you do.

  2. i love your blog. i probably wouldn’t wear that lacy top because my children would rip it to shreds but i still like seeing what you do with it. lately I’ve been missing the myeverydayedit posts, though, and i also miss those “fix this outfit” posts, which were always brilliant. Any chance of getting those two things going again? oh, and i also loved and miss those posts cam used to do on steps she takes to out an outfit together, those were super fun and helpful! thanks!

  3. Ok, I think I have baby-brain. I love one of the tops in the gallery, but when I click on it it just pops a box that would disburse a link to the article on Twitter. Uh, how do I find out how to buy one of the tops?
