Faves for In-Between Temps: Vests & Waterproof Boots

My mom wears vests alll the time . . . I see a vest, I think, “Oh Mom would love this!”  I never really even considered wearing them myself because they remind me so much of her (not in a bad way, Mom!).  But then one day we were at her house and it was bit too warm for the huge puffy coat I had left the house in, so I borrowed her J. Crew vest.  I actually kinda loved it!  They’re perfect for that in-between weather (obviously), but I especially like those in fashionable patterns and fun colors.  It’s another way to style a black turtleneck (something I’ve been doing a lot of lately, apparently).  Add some cool-looking waterproof booties (yes, they exist!) and you have a perfect outfit to take you into spring.  I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below.

My “I have a babysitter and it’s the middle of the day and I get to drink a beer” dance.

J. Crew Vest ($60!) I’m also loving this plaid pattern (25% off!) and this silver puffer vest.

Ugg Boots (also in brown) Perfect to transition from winter to spring, especially if you get lots of snow and/or rain . . . warm, waterproof and comfy.

Hudson Jeans I’ve been wearing these on repeat . . . love them for curvy girls! I had to cut off the bottom so these ankle length ones might have been a better bet!

Turtleneck (similar) Available in regular and petite sizes, I love that there’s no seam along the neckline and the long length.  This one isn’t as tight and this one is a great maternity option.

Rebecca Minkoff Backpack: Comfy, hands-free . . . big enough for everything you need.

P.S. Happy Valentine’s Day!!  Hope your day is filled with love and fun . . . here’s a peek at what we’re up to tonight, some awesome Valentine’s DIY ideas and last-minute unromantic movie night options.

  1. Love this, especially since where I live (Australia) we don’t really have winter like in the US – but it does get cool enough on “winter” mornings to need more than just long sleeves and a cardi 🙂 My personal go to is the faux fur vest or gilet = style + warmth!
