Hey hey, #NSale party peeps…it’s ON. How much better has it been to see some fabulous Anniversary Sale picks on our team here? SO much more helpful, informative and dare I say…more fun than just perusing them online, yeah?!
This time of year is no joke around here, but we love it so much. We adore trying on all the fab fall finds in the heat of summer because it gets us so stoked for the coming season. And friends, there are some fabulous finds!
10 Cool Outfits For Fall With My Fav Straight-Leg Jeans In The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I used to be a bargain shopper with a designer’s eye. Now I seem to have morphed into a designer shopper…with a designer’s eye. Heh. I blame this job for introducing me to the quality of incredible brands like Club Monaco, Theory, FRAME, Paul Green and La Ligne and for giving me the opportunity to try more of my forever-favorite, AllSaints.
This is my 5th season of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coverage and what have I learned? Two major things…1) stick to items that are my personal style (hi, straight leg jeans and moto jackets) and 2) go ahead and invest in those phenomenally well-made pieces right now (those will be the ones I’ll continue to wear.) With those two things in mind, this sale period will be a successful, closet-building, rad experience where we’ll pat our little selves on the back at the end! Yay us!
1. My Favorite Outfit
Uh, so it’s no surprise my favorite outfit includes an AllSaints moto jacket. If I had to pick one item in my whole closet to keep it would be one of these. I’ve had the same jacket in black for a couple of years now, got it in oxblood last year, and um now I can’t imagine taking this one back. Heh.
I sized up this year (size 8 above) to give a little more room for sweaters. They are incredibly soft and stretch a bit with wear to fit your body. This color, friends….It’s GOOD. More on the jeans and boots below. Spoiler: both top picks.
2. That AllSaints Sweater & These FRAME Chelsea Boots Tho
And in our continuing ode to AllSaints, this sweater is also GOOD. It was one of my top picks from my wishlist. They only had a medium in the ivory in store, but I’m kinda digging the oversized vibe. I am also planning to try my typical size small in it when I can. Unlike the sweaters last year, this asymmetrical hem is so much more flattering on my shorter frame. Well done, AllSaints!
OK, now the Re/Done black straight leg jeans. I can’t skip over those. My favorite jeans I tried on so far, hands down. Size up though as they don’t have much stretch and seem to run small. Wearing a 29. They are so flattering.
These FRAME boots are my favorite shoes in the sale by far. And while I haven’t tried on all of the boots in my wishlist yet, I saw quite a few other shoe options in-store and these are still just ‘it’ for me. They are so chic and cool, the higher shaft that works with like every jean and just something very me, like I mentioned above. They are worth the investment. They’re total outfit makers.
OMG. It really is an ‘ode to AllSaints.’ I think I warned y’all in my wishlist post. This AllSaints Alpha Convertible bag was the only bag in-store that caught my eye, and I’m glad it did. I’ve already switched over my previous purse full of stuff into this. The darker greige/olive color is stunning in person and you can wear it over-the-shoulder or as a backpack. It’s hard to tell here but it opens fully to hold all you need (ie. it’s not a flat envelope style bag.)
3. Cozy AllSaints Sweater, But With Distressed Denim & Blingy Mules
I adore a good cozy sweater, jeans and mules lewk. It’s just an easy vibe when you want to look put-together but still be comfy. These are the FRAME Le Original jeans I had on my wishlist and they’re great. They have a little stretch, and while I’m still figuring out the perfect length with boots, they are killer with flats. I’m wearing the 29 here, but the 28 fit, too. I brought both home to decide, so they do run TTS but I kinda like the size up for a little more room in this cut.
And speaking of flats, these Steve Madden Finn mules with the chain detail are so rad. They have a bit of cushion on the insole and just add that touch of detail and shine that completes an outfit. They come in a gorgeous camel suede, too, as well as a few other colors — and even a Chanel-inspired tweed.
4. The La Ligne Cotton Sweater I Want To Wear Daily
This La Ligne sweater looked so ‘meh’ on the website and not that incredible on the hanger in the store, but I knew from Shana this brand was a well-made fav… I’m so glad I paid attention.
Trying stuff on makes a world of difference. I’m stunned by this thing and its cottony softness. Definitely keeping forever. I like it best zipped all the way up. TTS for a little bit of a slouchy fit. Wearing a S.
5. A Classicly Gorgeous Club Monaco Trench
While I had checked this lovely jacket out online, it wasn’t really on my radar as a first-pick or go-to item…but I’m so incredibly glad I tried it on. It’s so freaking well-made and is cut beautifully.
Gwen has been a longtime fan of Club Monaco pieces, and I can see why. This is a forever closet piece. I did size up to a medium for more room in the shoulders. I’m a 6 in jackets, so that’s not uncommon for me. SO good if you need a slightly heavier, lined trench.

First honorable mention item is the cute under $20 Nordstrom brand ribbed LS striped tee I have on. It’s super-soft, great for layering and again, totally me. I love a little graphic pop so much. TTS. Wearing a S.
6. The Black Tee & Re/Done Jeans I’ll Live In, Styled Up
Jacket | Cami | Tee | Jeans | Boots | Bag
This whole look really came together…and check out my assistant there. Haha. It’s been so wonderful having my stylish mama here to help me this year. We had a blast looking through the store together. Stay tuned for a couple finds from her!
She picked up the cute PAIGE leopard cami above and then I promptly stole it for this look over the tee and jeans I adore. LOVE. Wearing a medium but would prob stick to a small.
Jacket | Tee | Jeans | Boots | Bag
This Bernardo jacket was on my wishlist and gah it’s sooooo comfy. It’s like the most glam piece in my collection here, but even edgy gals need a little glam. It’s incredibly soft but does run a little large. Wearing an XS.

Jacket | Tee | Cami | Jeans | Boots
Do I sound like a broken record yet? AllSaints, sponsor me. This under $30 tee by, yep, AllSaints is phenomenal. The sleeve cut is so flattering (it’s got a perfect cuff) and it’s replaced an older Madewell tee I love that wore out too quickly. I’ve worn it constantly since snapping these picks. TTS. Wearing a Small.
7. Soft PAIGE Joggers & Paul Green Chelsea Boots
Sweater | Joggers | Boots | Bag
These are the Mayslie joggers by PAIGE I’ve had in olive for a while. The gray in the sale are a really versatile shade and I cannot tell you how soft these babies are. They are my go-tos on the days I don’t want sweats but don’t feel like getting into jeans. TTS. Wearing a 28. They do run just slightly big in the waist, but they fit my booty and stronger thighs perfectly. So soft and stretchy.
Sweater | Joggers | Boots | Bag
Hiiii, gorgeous boots. I can’t wait to style these up more. These Paul Green chelsea boots are just an incredibly beautiful, well-made shoe. Yes, I’ll be treating them for PNW wear, have no fear. But I couldn’t leave them alone. They’re stunning. TTS. Ooh and this Vince, super-soft, wool-blend sweater is the most beautiful shade of blue. Runs boxy so I’m wearing an XS here. Gonna style it up with this bias-cut skirt soon.
8. Go-To AllSaints Leather Moto In Black
Moto | Tee | Jeans | Mules | Bag
The AllSaints jacket I’ve had in love for years, same Balfern style as the green above. I’m wearing a 6 instead of an 8 here though and it’s been broken-in. Love, love…and with the distressed denim and giant chain mules…yasss.
9. A Surprise-find, 1.State’s Black Blazer
Blazer | Tee | Jeans | Boots | Bag
It really wouldn’t be an NSale without me in a blazer. I’m so glad I found this 1.State blazer in the store because I hadn’t really been that impressed with any online when creating my wish list.
This baby has some rad ruching at the sleeves for added detail without fussiness and a cool faux double-breasted cut. I have it closed here but really love it open, too. Sized up to a medium to fit better around my straighter mid-section.
10. Avec Les Filles Cozy Puffer Coat
I was so intrigued when I found this Amazon…I mean Avec Les Filles puffer in the sale. Haha. It’s a total dupe of the weirdly popular ‘Amazon coat’ I’ve had for years…and it turns out it’s way cuter. The fabric is softer, the shorter cut is more flattering and this shade of green is just way more chic, IMO. It comes in ivory online and a couple of odd metallic options I saw in-store. This is my fav, but the ivory would be really chic with black pants and boots, too. The hood lining is SO soft. TTS. Wearing a small.
Whew, well there we have it! As usual, this was a lot of work sweating in dressing rooms and ignoring requests from my child while putting these looks together…but SO much fun. I love this, friends. And I hope it’s helpful to see these pieces styled like I would style them. I truly appreciate the support of what we’re doing around here as I know it’s a little nutty this time of year.

I love every single one of these outfits SO MUCH! I moved to WA from AZ about 3 years ago and being able to take hints from you on how to dress in this weather/culture has been so much fun. Gorgeous choices!
Ahh thank you SO much, Jenni! I am so glad it’s helpful! And glad to represent our lovely PNW. xo
I wasn’t going to buy anything from the sale this year (and probably still won’t? I don’t know!) but WOW, do I love those Paul Green chelsea boots. Gorgeous! Great looks altogether as usual, too.
Thanks so much! So appreciate the comment, friend!
Fantastic styling as usual. Loads of inspo. I hope some of my faves are available Friday! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Gah thanks Liz! Fingers crossed and check for returns that will inevitably happen! xo
Wow, that last puffer coat is cute. Clicked on the link and we’ll see if I can get it or not… still have a few days to go before I can shop the sale.
Fingers crossed! I haven’t heard a lot of chatter about it so hopefully it will be available!
That AllSaints backpack was a great find. I didn’t notice it in the sale until you posted it here. Clicked your link and bought it. It already arrived and it’s gorgeous. Thanks! 🙂
Oh awesome Valerie, thank you! And I’m so so glad you dig it!
