I got very lucky, friends. Very lucky, indeed. Not only did everything fit perfectly from my first round of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale orders, but five pieces of the bunch came out on top as clear favorites. We’re talking amazing finds that are no-brainers for me to keep and wear all. fall. long.
I mean, I’m calling this a great win. 2020, take that! Psshhh.
5 Must-Have Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks (& How To Style Them)
So, the five pieces in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I’m very much excited about are things I know I’ll wear on a very regular basis, if not every day. Just because these pieces are perfect for everyday (hi, gorgeous soft pink jacket and striped tee) doesn’t mean they’re basic. I think each piece has something that elevates it…whether that be the fabric, fit, cut, or that it’s just gosh darn comfortable.
Truth be told, I am a massive fan of all five things. With that said, let’s see them, shall we?
1. Vince Striped T-Shirt
This Vince Tee is the softest, most delicious top I think I’ve ever worn. As soon as I got it out of the bag I was cuddling it while rubbing it on my face (not weird at all). The other amazing thing about it — the sleeve length.
tee (TTS, wearing small)
I love it with Levi’s 501s and Converse…and I can definitely see this becoming a go-to outfit of mine. Here are few more ways I’d wear it…

I know. Skirts are scary…especially when they’re mini. I am here to try to persuade you otherwise. Look. How cute?! A soft, good-looking striped tee is exactly what it needs, too…oh, and with a dusty rose jacket over top? Even better.
2. Vince Stripe Wool & Cashmere Sweater
Here you see another Vince piece, because well…I guess this is the year I personally discovered the brand and AHHHH! Now I get it. Just like the striped tee, this pullover sweater feels incredibly luxurious, soft and just delightful. I am so sold it’s not even funny.

Of course, it looks amazing pulled on with my favorite Levi’s. I mean, if it didn’t it would be gone (thank you, next), but no worries there. It’s pretty darn fantastic with most anything, actually. See below.

3. Socialite Stretch Satin Joggers
These silky joggers were something I saw randomly at the last second before checkout. I am so glad I ordered them! They have proven to be a top contender from this year’s Nordstrom Sale. They are comfortable, lightweight and best of all; they feel luxe…all while coming in at just 29 bucks.
joggers | tee (wearing M) | flats
Chic and cool — paired with a graphic tee. Yes, this is looking good…
The joggers don’t stop there, though! They rock it out with an assortment of tops and footwear. For instance, I was incredibly happy to find that they work almost too well with a fancy sweatshirt + white sneaks. THANK YOU, silky smooth joggers!

4. Topshop Chicago High Waist Dad Jeans
Laura told me to get on these STAT, as soon as she had tried them on…and yessss, girl. These are the jeans of all jeans for this season (in my very humble opinion). They’re high waisted, have the perfect rip, and that relaxed fit through the leg is just what I’ve been unknowingly hoping for all these months.
Again. Do they pass the graphic tee test? That’s a yes. This time, I knotted the tee and got a little exposé with it (not sure that’s a word, but going with it…because it sounds French and cool).
What’s really great about these dad jeans is one: they’re much better than dad jokes….and TWO: they’re just as good with a dressy top and footwear pairing OR a decidedly more casual one.

5. Caslon Lexie Pointed Toe Slingback
I have to say, these ended up being a great surprise. I ordered them because it’s always nice to have a good flat…but just wasn’t sure how much I’d actually like them on me, in person.
I tried them on and the first thing I noticed is that they are actually very comfortable…and that’s saying something for a pointy-toed slingback. Also, the color is so so lovely!
flats (TTS, wearing 9.5)
A slingback with a pointy-toe gives a bit of a polished look, I guess you could say…so! Why not throw in a tailored white blazer? I went without anything underneath for look #1 and then realized that might not be everyone’s jam…and so, for look #2 I layered a pretty little tank underneath. I love both looks, so I’ll leave it on a high note with the pretty flats.
I then went through all of my #NSale finds and some randos from my closet to come up with four outfit combinations that would suit a pair of flat slingbacks. I don’t know that I can pick just one as a favorite, but those trousers? Mmhmmmmm.

Quick question unrelated to the fashion – although those are all cute looks. How did you style your hair when you put it up? I love it! I am getting my first haircut in months this week and I am worried it will be too short to put up. I really want to be able to wear it up when I head back to the classroom in a few weeks. Please, please, please do a quick post on this!!
Hi! So, my hair is right above the shoulder. It IS a bit too short to put up…on its own! However, with pretty bobby pins and sometimes a clip or two…I can get it to stay up. I’ll think about a post. Great idea! Cheers, Cams
Same question as Mary! Also, any chance that grey hoodie you’ve styled with the green joggers is still available somewhere? I love it!
Okay! I’ll think about how to do a post on it. 🙂 As for then hoodie, it’s Daily Ritual — https://amzn.to/3iMYON8 . Cheers!
Love your sale picks! Would also love to know what shorts you’re wearing and size?
Hey Carla! They are Levi’s 501s — https://shopstyle.it/l/blE0o . I went up a size to a 28 (I’m in between a 4-6). Cheers!
Yes, please! Post on the updo!
Okay!! 🙂 Cheers, Cams
Love these looks. I’ve been eyeing those Topshop jeans too. Do they fit true to size? Last year I bought the TopShop Jamie’s in the NSale and had to size up two sizes (from my typical waist size for any brand).
Hey Rose! So, with Topshop I always go with their size guidelines. With this particular pair it noted that a 28 fits like a 27, which is my usual size, so yeh. I did size up by one! Topshop is funny that way. I hope that helps! Cheers, Cams
I must have been drunk, asleep or just brain dead from distance learning, but I bought those TopShop Dad Jeans. Lord. I’m 5’7 and generally wear a size 4/6 or 27 denim. I workout, eat well and lunge the hell out of my lower body. My reward cannot be those damn jeans. I transformed from a relatively nicely shaped hourglass, to….I honestly don’t know how to describe the resulting body. One giant carrot? A rectangular brick? High rise, yes…as in hitting the bra strap. (No way to sit comfortably.) Back view….so my a$$ started at my bra strap and finished somewhere around my knees. Big and flat. (You could literally use it as a backboard for handball or something.) For those of you who purchased them and love them, I have to see the backside view.
Ladies, we deserve better.
