Comfy wide-leg pants are kinda new territory in my book, but after recently trying a pair from Athleta and realizing how much I wanted to wear them every day, I knew I had to test out the Nike Palazzo pants in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Best Of The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access: The Nike Palazzo Pants Styled 7 Ways
I wasn’t sure these wide-leg pants would work for me or that I’d even like them at all…until I slipped them on. Wowza. Comfy, soft, high-waisted, well-made and cool. Those are the words that describe these great palazzo pants. They’re also still available in a light gray. The ivory has almost sold out, I believe, but I’m stoked because (for now) the black is still in stock! You saw in Shana’s try-on sesh that they run really long, so we shorties will have to hem, chop, etc., Here I taped them up in front to get an idea of what they’ll look like before I decide how to shorten mine. Because, yes, these I’m definitely keeping! *UPDATE: Looking for alternatives to the sold out pants? These from Free People and these from Converse look like great options! Also loving this cropped Nike pair!
So, these are super-cozy fleecey sweatpants. That’s what gives them this great structure. They aren’t a drapey summery pant, but depending on where you live, you could wear them soon. I’ll definitely be wearing these in the mornings and evenings here when it’s cool. The sheer amount of fabric in these really calls for a top that shows your waistline if you’re shorter like me. But we will ‘break’ this rule a little bit below, for funsies. I’m loving a knotted tee, a half-tucked tee, or the cool twist tee available from Zella with these. I do wish the twist tee came in a petite length for these, but I’m thinking that tank Linzi tried on in her selfies post might be amazing.
Ok, so we briefly saw this tee above but it needed more attention. I love the cropped proportions of this look with the wide-leg pants and this is the way to go right now while we aren’t wearing a jacket or sweater on top. But as you see, it’s super cute with a jacket or coat topper, too! I never say this but I wish the tee was juuust a little bit shorter, but the nice thing is you don’t have to worry about showing the midsection if you don’t want to with this one. A great combo! Perhaps sizing down in the tee would make it just that little bit shorter.
I mean, you knew this was coming, and not just by the first image at the top…this jacket is so good. You’ve heard me rave about this AllSaints Balfern moto jacket as my very favorite, but you could also pair any other amazing moto with it. I’d stick to one that hits at the waist, too, though. We’re mostly avoiding anything that would add width to the hip area and shows where your waist is, visually. I’m a sucker for pairing badass pieces with sporty pieces. It’s forever my jam. AND THIS BLUE BAG! It’s beautiful in person, great quality, soft, easy to carry and gorg. I don’t have any more bags in yet, but gah. This is a fabulous one to start with.
This sweater has been one of my favorite finds from the sale so far. It’s so cozy and thin enough to half tuck. This color is sold out, but a gorgeous pale pink and deep red are still around. The ribbing on the drop shoulder adds the perfect cool detail, too. I don’t think I love the color of the taupe boots at the bottom with this sweater but they look a little darker here than they are in person. Weird.
I love love the look of a long coat with sportswear. It’s that mixing styles thing I adore. I’m loving it with a camel coat (similar and still in stock) or the plaid one below is great, too! That one is also still in stock. It runs a little bit large, but not a full size.
If it’s colder out, add a cozy sweater on top of your tee for a really layered look!
You’ve heard me rave about this comfy blazer forever. I think it works so great with these palazzo pants! This would be the world’s comfiest travel outfit. The blazer is stretch and comes in quite a few other shades, too, but white is my favorite for making any outfit look fresh and sharp while still comfy.
This Zella longline sports bra goes gorgeously with these high rise pants. So comfy! A great loungey look or post-workout. I like this Ugg hoodie better than the matching pants which fit weird, so it’s perfect with the palazzo pants. I realize I’m not much of a matching set gal anyway. So this is more me. The Ugg hoodie is also the same weight as the fleece pants here, so they feel well-paired.
