When shopping a sale like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I know full outfits are so helpful to be able to visualize how you might actually style these great pieces day-to-day. It helps me to be able to see how an item might work into my existing wardrobe, and of course how the pieces coordinate with one another for situations in our real lives.

Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview went live, we’ve been planning and creating and getting some ideas out there (see our cheat sheet here) so everyone — us included — can smartly shop the sale! Plus, putting together these looks is such a fun exercise on my end because as a fashion-lover and graphic designer, it’s like what I was made for. (Essentially digital paper dolls!)

I get to shop starting this Friday (8/7), so I’m currently here obsessing over what is at the top of my list. Then I came back to work on this post and I’m like, um, yeah. Much of this stuff is tops! It’s the stuff I’ll actually wear the most and feel good in, and the stuff that is really my vibe. So, is edgy, casual, slightly-classic, slightly-sporty, city-chic is your vibe, too? Well, I’ve got some lewks for ya. (And you can check out my initial wishlist for the sale and my animal print capsule here for similar vibes!)

Best Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks: 5 Casual-Chic Outfits For That Street Style Look

I tried to come up with some looks I could really get excited about for the various situations I might find myself in for this upcoming fall (this fall and those NOT during a pandemic sitch…smiley sweat emoji here.) My favorite looks are always comfy, but a little edgy with some sporty element thrown in for balance. I’m anti-boring when it comes to outfits and almost always include a graphic print, an animal print, or something that adds interest like a bright pop of color

Outfit 1: Fall In The City

Thinking about running errands downtown in the fall, coffee in hand (and, of course, mask on face) gets me all excited to say byeee summer already. I’m such a fall girl. Crisp mornings and pretty leaves? OK, yes. These boots are weatherproof, by Blondo, and I can’t wait to try them out. They’re a great blend of combat boots-meet-rain boots-meet-hiking boots? And I’m here for it.

Outfit 2: Workout-To-Street Wear

This is probably the type of outfit I need most of the time. In a typical year, I’m heading to barre3 three times a week, but am always running errands before and after class. I’ve done some posts on this before, and am actually working on an Nordstrom Anniversary Sale capsule wardrobe dedicated to just this! But, I found a few of these lovely items I wanted to pull into one of these looks. This faux leather/knit rad blazer style jacket is one of my top #NSale picsk, and this hoodie sweater is the easiest for layering and adding a cozy vibe to any outfit. The Beyond Yoga stuff will probably go quickly, but I think they’re worth investing in even at full price. Their fabrics are THE best for workout and loungewear.

Outfit 3: Rocker-Chic

Animal print sneakers and moto jackets…have you heard me talk these up enough? Haha. I adore both items so much because they make otherwise basic pieces more me. Comfy & badass are the balance I’m always going for. These types of pieces can also be mixed in with work basics for an edgier vibe. But this? This is like my go-to fall outfit. A sweatshirt in a bright pop, a rad leather jacket (I have and adore this one) cool but comfy sneakers and jeans, and a great bag. Done.

Outfit 4: Work From Home

Oh hi, cozy fall work-from-home outfit. I would live in this combo every day this winter. These are all Winter Capsule Wardrobe Worthy, for sure! Cozy top and cozy blanket and coffee that stays warm + easy cute joggers and fuzzy slippers = perfection. I love the stripes in this top too — they add that little black and white graphic element I love. And — just for fun — this Smeg electric kettle. Someday, I will have all Smeg appliances in my kitchen because they are just the most gorgeous. Outfit 5: Momming, But Make It Cool

And here we see…my favorite moto jacket yet again. It is the kind of investment piece you have gotta grab…and on sale it’s even better (and I just realized it’s now offered in oxblood too!!) Pair with a graphic tee, great jeans with stretch,  cute sneakers and a backpack — and yeah, this is another go-to outfit. I feel comfy but put-together when I wear this combo. I feel like that’s forever my mom-goals!

OK, the anticipation is really getting to me. Haha. I don’t know what else to comment on about these cute pieces except that I’m excited to try them on and style them up!

Where are my moto jacket fangirls out there? What’s your favorite jacket in the sale? And what kind of outfits are you most excited to find for fall? I’m banking on the Good American jeans to be super-comfy like Kat and Scotti say they are. I’ll be honest, I don’t want another three months of me in sweats. Haha. Stretchy jeans for the win, I hope! • Thanks, Dana! I saw it says that it runs small, but I don’t know this brand very well, so I went with a medium, especially since it involved faux leather and sometimes that doesn’t stretch. It’ll be interesting to see the fit and now I realize I should’ve ordered a couple of sizes to try. Doh!
