Talk about ask and you shall receive, guys. I had barely pressed publish on my recent beauty routine post — you know, the one in which I jokingly invited Biossance to sponsor the content — when they reached out to TME with a partnership opportunity. And I that’s how I found myself with my hand sticking straight into the air, desperately waggling around à la Hermione Granger, silently pleading. Me me me me me.
I’ve been using — and loving — Biossance products for several years now, since the very beginning when the line was first launched (a family friend had an inside connection to the company and gifted us all with their products as soon as they became available), and I can honestly say, sponsored post or not, they are the most effective skincare products I’ve used — and an incredible value for the price.
Speaking of which: for the next two days, Biossance is running a Flash Sale on their cult fave, best-selling Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel which has never been discounted like this before: more than 50% off the retail price — usually $54, but it’s on sale for $25! I’ve used a number of Biossance products, but this is one I hadn’t gotten around to trying, so I was super excited to give it a go. (Spoiler alert: when my in-laws arrived for Thanksgiving, they commented that I was glowing, so something’s working. And no, I’m definitely not that.) The sale only runs through 12/1, so now is the time to stock up, friends! Also, be sure to use code THEMOMEDIT25 when checking out for 25% off (good until 12/25)!
I’m currently using the Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil, the 100% Squalane Oil, the Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream and the Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm daily, but I’ve dabbled in almost the whole line, so I thought I’d share a few more of my favorites here.

Oh, and before we proceed — at this point we should all probably be asking: What is Squalane, right? Well, supposedly there’s an agent in our own skin called squalene (with an “e”) that diminishes as we get older, and Biossance has found a way to produce something nearly identical from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane. (Traditionally it’s harvested from shark livers which, 1) has a devastating environmental impact and 2) is just…ew…so I’m going to say yay science! on this one.) What’s more, Biossance’s products are formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances, or over 2,000 ingredients that are potentially toxic or questionable. And all Biossance products are proudly vegan, cruelty-free and EWG-verified.
In short, there’s a lot to love about this skincare line, not least of which is the fact that I’ve found it to be really freaking effective.
OK, let’s get into it!
Biossance Squalane: Skincare Products I Know & Love
1 // Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel
This is the guy that’s on super sale at the moment. It’s described as a weightless, ultra-hydrating eye gel that reduces the look of puffiness and dark circles, and while I haven’t been using it long enough to attest to the dark circles, it does seem to relieve puffiness, and it provides tremendous hydration (which in turn helps with the little bit of crepiness I’m starting to notice). A little most definitely goes a long way.
2 // Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
I use this product interchangeably with the 100% Squalane Oil as a nighttime moisturizer (sometimes accompanied by another layer of moisture, sometimes alone), and it’s super lovely. The scent is subtly rosey, really light and it’s lived up to its claims to reduce fine lights and brighten skin.
3 // Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
I’ve only been using this for a few days, and holy hydration, Batman! It’s super light and creamy in texture — not at all greasy — and plumps. that. skin. up. According to the website, it’s “formulated with lipids that mimic and support skin’s natural moisture barrier: squalane, omega fatty acids, ceramides and plant sterols help nourish, plump, hydrate and feed your skin,” which I’ve decided is a buncha fancy talk for really freaking glowy skin.
4 // Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream
This is the eye cream that I’ve been using daily, and it’s special enough that I’m throwing it in here again. Super creamy, super hydrating, and it truly does make my eyes appear brighter and more even with fewer fine lines. Best of all, it’s rich but not greasy at all, so while I apply it before bed, I also apply it in the morning before my eye makeup, and the makeup stays where it should.
5 // Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer
This moisturizer is specially formulated for redness-prone skin — even skin with rosacea — and while I’ve not experienced that, myself, I can attest that it feels exceptionally light and soothing. (There’s also a cool little slider on the website that shows an example of redness reduction in before/after, and it’s pretty dang convincing.)
6 // Squalane + Phyto Retinol Serum
Wait! Don’t turn up your nose just yet. This serum features a plant-derived alternative to retinol that reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles and improves firmness without irritation or sensitivity. Again, retinol-free. I’ve used this regularly for about six months now, and I’ve never once experienced irritation. Another instance where a little goes a long way, so even though it’s the spendiest of the bunch, it’s a fairly valuable buy for the efficacy. Am I Benjamin Button-ing yet?
Honestly, for the price (which is mid-priced, as far as luxury skincare is concerned), I haven’t personally used a product line that is more efficacious. So, tell me — have any of you tried Biossance? Are you as hooked as I am?
xo!
