An Unexpectedly Awesome Gift: Cozy Slippers

Cozy slippers, how I love thee. I go through slippers like nobody’s biz-ness. I have a drafty old house (circa 1896!) with wood floors, and I work from home, so I pretty much live in these unless I’m out and about (aaand I’ll admit it, sometimes when I’m out and about, too…I’m talking about you, morning school drop-off.)

The three styles that seem to take me well through the year are slides for warmer months (so feet can breathe), moccasins for cool months and boot styles for those really cold December through February days…or for all the time — if you’re always freezing (hi, Gwen).

Favorite Gift Idea: Cozy Slippers

Slippers are definitely on the ‘classic dad-gift’ list, but friends and family are always pleasantly surprised, like, a week later, when all they’ve done is slip into the cozy softness of their new slippers from me. Then they realize what an amazing gift-giver I am. WHO DOESN’T WANT COZY FEET?! I say. These are things I know. You also probably know this, but it’s helpful to have a roundup of some absolute favorites for easy gifting and shopping, so here we go!

P.S. When you’re done here, go to our holiday gift guide central for more seriously cool gift ideas for all your loved ones (or whomever).

WHO DOESN'T WANT COZY FEET? Here's our roundup of 3 styles of our absolute favorite cozy slippers for winter & year-round + easy gifting & shopping.

1/ UGG Scuffette II: Another classic from UGG. These are so easy to slide on and off, and super-cozy.

2/ Madewell Curly Scuff (on sale!): Like tiny pet sheep for your feet? I’m in.

3/ LOFT Faux Fur (50% off!): This color is just insanely glam and striking. These are some of my favorite slippers. I’m on my second pair in gray.

4/ Sophie Leopard Scuff: A classic fluffy slide in leopard is always fun. These look super soft. I love a crisscross style for fall and spring because toes don’t get too hot.

5/ UGG Mini: If you’re gonna stick with a classic, go with the mini. They’re so cozy, but a little more current and flattering. Love that they are water-resistant now!

6/ Bearpaw Boot: I have and love these. They’re so cozy without being too hot somehow. They do stretch some so don’t size up. I’d say size down if you’re a half size.

7/ Minnetonka Torrey: These look amazingly cozy and I love the soft sweater material mixed with the suede. If you have a drafty old house like we do, a boot slipper keeps you extra cozy!

8/ Minnetonka Alpine Sheepskin: I just got this style for Sienna and they’re super soft soft inside. Love for kiddos and adult types.

9/ Acorn Moc (25% off!): Loving these! I hadn’t seen a style like this before, but now I’m thinking they’d be super soft when sitting on the sofa with legs crossed.

10/ UGG Dakota: Another classic UGG in a mocassin style. I’ve had these before, too, and they really hold up well. These are a lovely gift for anyone who works from home, anyone with cold feet, moms, grandmas…honestly a fab gift for anybody.

  1. Help me out here. There’s something I don’t understand about slippers, maybe it’s because I live somewhere warm? Do most people wear them without socks? And if so, how do you wash them? Because if you don’t wash them it’s basically like wearing the same pair of dirty socks every day, and I just can’t stomach that. I gave up on slippers and just got a few pairs of arctic socks I can throw in the wash. But if anyone knows of a better solution I’d love to hear it. I once had a pair of crocs with a removable, washable liner and those were great but can’t find them anymore.
