When I saw that Free People had added these cord flares to their CRVY collection, (their curvy-friendly denim line) I ordered them immediately. LOVE. Perfect for fall and surprisingly versatile — I love the way they fit and feel. They have a high enough rise to fit my waist and booty without squeezing me and making me feel like a sausage. I tried both my regular size 28 and a smaller 27—sometimes I have to size down with a higher rise, and in this case the 27s were perfect.
The curvy cord flares pair perfectly with the VoloshinXTME Morgan Top (which is 35% off!). This top is actually perfect for curves. It drapes nicely without clinging to your belly, and has that fun dramatic back view that shows off your waist. It’s one of my favorite tops right now( AND it’s nursing-friendly).
Did I mention I love these flares? Here are 5 other ways I’m wearing them right now:
1. CRVY Cord Flares + A Denim Jacket
I love the combo of the lighter denim wash with the navy top and tan pants. A denim jacket is the perfect layer to take this top + pants combo into fall (and it maintains the nursing-friendly part of the shirt!). Just add a scarf when it gets colder.
2. Free People Flares + A Bodysuit
This bodysuit is crazy comfortable. I’m always worried about what size to get because I have a booty but small shoulders—I went with the small in this one and was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t dig into my thighs and create a crazy panty line. It is SO unbelievably soft (and nursing friendly for the win!) and I love the longer length of the sleeves. Bodysuits are perfect to show off high-waisted pants.
3. Curvy Cords + An Off-the-Shoulder Sweater
Slouchy off-the-shoulder sweaters are my favorite kind of sexy for fall and winter. Show off a little shoulder without sacrificing comfort. (Another nursing-friendly option, too!) This one comes in regular and petite sizes, and I’m loving all three colors. Size down if you want it to fit like the model, stick with your regular size if you like the slouchier fit of mine.
4. Cord Flares + A Tunic
I mean . . . you know I love my tunics. I’m trying to branch out from the typical tunic-and-leggings combo and feel like pairing them with flares is a fresher approach. (Although, I will admit, I’m in love with this sweater and have been wearing it with these leggings at home alllll the time.) It also comes in a turtleneck version and in a ton of colors that would look amazing with these pants . . . and for $30, I think I need another color.
5. Free People Cords + A Graphic T-Shirt (& Faux Fur)
When in doubt, a graphic tee is always a good choice
I recently stole this one from Shana recently left this shirt behind after a trip home to Marquette, so I’m taking good care of it while she’s gone. (Seriously, I’m wearing it with all the things, like this leopard skirt and boots. She’s never getting it back. #gottalovesisters) Throw on a big ol’ fluffy faux fur coat to keep that 70’s vibe going well into fall.
