…or so I tell myself (all of the time, haha). Hey! At least I can play the part with the right outfits. That’s what is so magical about clothing!

It’s also what I find so fun about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — having a reason to concentrate some serious effort on putting outfits together — and not just outfits, but pieces that can work together in a series of different ways. I always go into it feeling like I’m about to run the marathon of all fashion marathons, but then quickly find myself happily clickin’, adding pieces into a collage and rearranging/replacing things until I have, what I think, is a damn good grouping.

Now, I know that many of us (me included) are a little bit more meh about adding anything significant to our closets right now, what with…well, NOWHERE TO GO, really. Let me pose a question, though, darlings. Why can’t we still get excited about the fun stuff, buy the fun stuff, and wear the fun stuff? It may look a little different right now…and by that I mean, we may wear the bold AF coat with our basic jeans, tee and sneakers…but BY GOD, we are wearing something that gives us life!!!

Anyway, I challenge you to try to do the same (and I am sure you already are and I should just shut up, because…ummm, Cams? We got this). lol. I just want to motivate us all to stay positive, motivated and FUN…especially when it comes to what we wear, because oh my goodness, SO many good things can flow from that starting point in a day!

K. I am really done now. Here is my take on a Cool Mom Capsule Wardrobe. I’d wear any and all of these pieces, in various different combinations…to run errands, pick up library books at the curb, grab take out, drop-off/pick-up the kids (for their two days/week at school), etc., etc., Enjoy, mamas!

1/ Def Leppard Graphic Tee: The one I included above is now gone (may be restocked soon?!), but hey! Here is a similar Pink Floyd tee, too…and it’s just as cool. Ooo! Or this one.

2/ Kendra Scott Marty Drop Earrings: A little bit rocker, right? Also, pretty.

3/ Halogen Long Sleeve Tee: This also comes in a pale pink, white, and black…love it tucked in (almost like a bodysuit).

4/ Avec Les Filles Houndstooth Faux Fur Coat: This coat is too much and that’s precisely why I love it. It’s so cool! Talk about a statement.

5/ Topshop Rib Knit Crop Cardigan: A cute, cropped cardi to wear with high-waisted denim by itself or open over a tank top or tee.

6/ Levi’s 501 High Waist Cropped Jean: 501s are my favorite cut in Levi’s…they just always fit so well. I am also into these Ribcage Jeans but these have both since sold out. Shoot. I’ll keep an eye out for restocks but in the meantime, you can get a really close pair on Amazon. 

7/ Topshop High Waist Dad Jean: Literally so excited about these! The cool cooooool jean.

8/ Free People Turnt Bodysuit: Feminine, easy and can be worn with all the denim. I also really like the Topshop Long Sleeve Bodysuit.

9/ Kenzie Double Breasted Tweed Blazer: Gotta get my hands on this one! It’s feminine, yet cool. I would wear it over a graphic tee with jeans and a cute sneaker or bootie.

10/ Karl Lagerfeld Slip-on Sneaker: Sneakers are a big thing, obviously…so, these chain slip-ons are uhhhhh, the coolest.

11/ Quay Reina Sunglasses: My favorite sunglasses are from Quay. These light pink stunners have been on my radar since I created my wish list. 

12/ STS Blue Denim Mini Skirt: I was pleasantly surprised last year when I tried on a denim mini skirt…loved it! They look fantastic with taller boots and a pullover sweater.

13/ Addison Charm Choker: Oooooh yeah. Mom’s cool with the choker.

14/ Taner Bar Necklace: I’d layer the above necklace with this one. Pretty!

15/ Kurt Geiger London Sequin Crossbody Bag: Gotta keep the fun in an outfit…even if you’re just going to run errands. A bag is always an easy way to uplift an outfit and make it unique. So, sequins? uh. YES.

16/ 42 Gold Kiki Pointed Toe Bootie: I can’t stop thinking about these…and I rarely wear heels, but but but I can wear heels…especially if they’re this epic.

17/ Sam Edelman Laurie Combat Boot: Combat boots are a must for me now.

18/ Free People Movement Wide Leg Pants: These remind me of the crowd favorite Kyoto legging from FP, but the updated version. They’re also more like pants…which makes them even better, in my opinion.

19/ Madewell Madison Side Tie Cardigan: A good throw on with anything sweater! I’d love to put it over any tee or tank…just add jeans and a sneaker, bootie or flat.
