We’re back with some monthly sustainable picks — winter edition. I’ve been basically drooling over the clothes I’m going to wear once this pandemic is over…and all the loungewear I haven’t yet managed to get my hands on.

Below I rounded up my sustainable favorites (some are even a bit different than my usual shades of darkness, thank you very much). Think: creamy beige, gray, black…with some gorgeous burgundy thrown in.

If you haven’t already, check out our Sustainable Style page, updated monthly. There’s a list of the retailers we use when we’re looking for sustainable clothing and accessories (or even home goods), as well as some top picks from each of them.

Top Sustainable Style Picks For January

1/ H&M Joggers

I swear I mostly only look at joggers and sweatshirts anymore but…can you blame me? I just want allll the comfort. I recently tried out a pair of super-inexpensive joggers from H&M and loved them. I’m REALLY happy to see their investment in sustainability because truth be told…they’re one of my go-tos. You can find more in their conscious section.

2/ Briogeo Scalp Revival Therapy

I need this. I’m tired, my hair’s tired and my scalp is crying for help. (Thank you, Winter.) An at-home spa night and some hair treatments? Exactly what I think we’re needing right about now. It includes an exfoliating shampoo, a cooling conditioner, a scalp treatment and a stimulating therapy massager. (The massager had me sold.) PS: Besides the sustainable processes they use, Briogeo is a Black-owned business and the products are also vegan and cruelty free!

3/ Kiya Tomlin Twisted Sweatshirt

Kiya Tomlin is a Black-owned business I’ve been obsessing over the past few months. They’re unlike anything I’ve seen before and 100% up my alley — somewhere between upgraded athleisure & fancy comfort. Cool and chic.

4/ Patagonia Fleece Jacket

A classic Patagonia fleece but even cozier. (The type of cozy that you’d probably keep it on indoors.) I’ve been really into this shade of cream recently, but it’s available in four other colors, too!

5/ NAADAM Cashmere Hoodie

I mean.. we’re all just a little obsessed with Naadam’s cashmere. If my entire closet could consist of just Naadam loungewear…I’d be the happiest girl in the world. And LOOK at that burgundy color. Don’t mind if I do…

6/ DL1961 Rachel High Rise Flare Jeans

Truthfully, these just make me happy. I mean…how cool? I’ve been eyeing up all the flares and thought iId get myself some denim, but I don’t know.. these are really calling my name. You could dress them up or down, wear for the holidays or just for a regular day in the fall. So tempting…

7/ RE/DONE ’70s Stove Pipe Jeans

I LOVE the wash of these. And I really like that the rips aren’t super ripped, just a lil slice in the knee…that sounds horrendous but you know what I mean. The cut is promising, too since it’s slightly cropped.. I would still probably wear them as full-length jeans LOL. I bet once you break these bad boys in, they’d be the kinda jeans you could lounge in, too.

8/ Athleta Studio Wide-Leg Pants

The Athleta pants we all love. But seriously, you need a pair of wide-leg pants to lounge around in. I’m all for cuffed joggers, but sometimes I want a li’l more room to breathe. I also love the waistband — definitely food baby approved.

9/ Swedish Hasbeens ’60s Boots

Okay, I have not been able to stop thinking about these things. I’ve been super into the chocolate brown shades lately, and this is coming from someone who strictly wears black, white and gray. These boots are the perfect example of that dreamy chocolate color. OBSESSED.

10/ Everlane Glove Boots

We love Everlane’s Glove boots! They come in a ton of colors AND they now come in a wool blend that S has been wearing. Again, I’m really feeling these warm brown colors, but I’m obsessed with Linzi’s navy pair, too. Decisions, decisions here, guys.

11/ Bernie Sanders Mittens

I had to. I can’t get enough of these Bernie memes. I found these sustainable mittens from an Etsy shop — Mountains Handmade, and they have even more cute options on there! Honestly though…meme aside, I’m really likin’ the way these mittens look and might just have to get myself a pair…

  1. Love that we are all crazy for Bernie’s mittens! I have a “Luke” pair that I’ve had for 30 years and just dug them out to wear proudly! How’s that for sustainable! Also live the Athleta wide legged joggers. Buying those today.
