The best part about in-store shopping? Being able to try jeans on. The worst part about in-store shopping? Trying jeans on. 😂

No, but seriously…I have a love/hate relationship with the Search For The Perfect Jean. On one hand, you have to try on a ton–many of which look awful on a curvy body or are made for people much taller than you. (Sizing is…um…inconsistent, and I have to keep telling myself it’s really not about the number!)

On the other hand, you can walk away with a fabulous new pair of jeans that flatter your curves and make you feel great. So for those of you who have a little bit of a booty and have yet to make it to the store to try jeans on, I put in some work for you. Here were the top five pairs of jeans I found…and a bonus: my new favorite denim shorts.

The Winners: AG Farrah High-Waist Bootcut Jeans

Found: fabulous jeans that flatter our curves & make us feel great. AG, PAIGE, Good American + more denim for those of us with a bit of a booty.

AG Farrah High Waist Bootcut Jeans (29)

The AG Farrah high-waist bootcut jeans were the ones that came home with me! I love the high waist and the slightly flared bottom. I love the lighter wash for spring and summer.

Fit notes: I’m glad I was able to try these bootcut jeans on in-store because I normally would have ordered a 28, but the 29s fit much better. The 29″ length is perfect for me to wear with all different types of shoes: Birks, sandals, heels, sneakers…LOVE that.

The Jeans That Were a Close Second: MOTHER Frayed Flares

Found: fabulous jeans that flatter our curves & make us feel great. AG, PAIGE, Good American + more denim for those of us with a bit of a booty.

MOTHER Frayed Flare Jeans (28, in hop on hop off, more sizes and washes here)

I always love MOTHER jeans, especially their flares! I couldn’t justify getting these AND the AG flares above, though, because I actually already have them in a darker wash…that’s how good they are. See my Facebook post below from a year ago raving about them…although the 27s are a bit tight these days…😂

The Jeans That Would Have Been Awesome in My Size: PAIGE Cindy Ripped Crop Straight Legs

Found: fabulous jeans that flatter our curves & make us feel great. AG, PAIGE, Good American + more denim for those of us with a bit of a booty.

PAIGE Cindy Ripped Crop Straight Leg Jeans

I was so bummed they didn’t have the 29s for me to try on because I LOVED these PAIGE straight leg jeans. The butt was awesome, which is typical for PAIGE jeans…they’re really good for curvy bodies. I also liked the shorter (26″) inseam–perfect for shorter girls.

Fit notes: 28s were too small. 29 would have worked. (And…great butt!)

The Jeans I Have (& Love) In A Lighter Wash: MOTHER The Insider High Waist Crop Step Fray Hem Bootcut

Found: fabulous jeans that flatter our curves & make us feel great. AG, PAIGE, Good American + more denim for those of us with a bit of a booty.

MOTHER The Insider High Waist Crop Step Fray Hem Bootcut Jeans (28)

I have these high-waist crop jeans in a darker wash and love them. I’m able to wear them year-round (bonus) and they’re ridiculously comfy.

Fit notes: These have the same inseam as the PAIGE jeans above (26″) so they work especially well for shorter mamas–although the model wearing them is decidedly NOT short, meaning they work on taller bodies as well!

The Jeans I Didn’t Realize I Already Tried: AG Ex-Boyfriend Slim Fit

Found: fabulous jeans that flatter our curves & make us feel great. AG, PAIGE, Good American + more denim for those of us with a bit of a booty.

AG Ex-Boyfriend Distressed Slim Fit Jeans (28)

I just went around the store grabbing jeans that looked good to me (and were in my size) but it wasn’t until I actually had these on that I realized I had just tried them the week before! At least I’m consistent–and these are pretty fabulous jeans. I did a post comparing them to the Kut from the Kloth jeans that are similar, which I kept instead. But, after wearing the Kut from the Kloth jeans multiple times, they do stretch A LOT. The AGs are more expensive, but they keep their shape…you get what you pay for I guess!

Best. Cutoffs. Ever: Good American Bombshell Shorts

Good American Bombshell Chewed Hem Shorts (6)

I’ve been wearing Good American’s Bombshell shorts for years (2019 here and here, 2020 here) because they’re perfect for curvier bodies: a higher rise that isn’t super tight like most with extra room in the bum and thighs. This might be my favorite iteration of them because of that frayed hem! They’re slightly longer than the ones I already had but aren’t so long that they feel dowdy. SO good, you guys.
