When it comes to boots…sometimes they all start to look the same. For this fall, though, I’ve been MORE than pleasantly surprised with several interesting arrivals to the comfortable boot scene.
First, we have the Paul Green Dynamic Boots that I tried, and that Emily masterfully styled here. They are total WOW boots (and not as shiny in person). Second, we have the light grey Aquatalia booties that I wore in this post and loved. The light color makes boring outfits POP, and they are total stunners. And finally…in first place (well…at least as of today) are the army green weatherproof booties that look good with EVERYTHING. The problem is, I fell in love with two different pairs.
Best Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks: Army Green Chelsea Booties
As I was doing my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale selfies, I realized I was gravitating toward green booties for almost every outfit. Black skinny jeans? Green booties. Blue crop flares? Green booties. MOTHER fray hems? Green booties. They’re super-versatile and a cool bootie refresh if you’re sick of black and tan and brown, but don’t necessarily want a statement boot. I tried on and loved the Vince Henderson Chelsea Boot in color “militaire” with my initial round of Anni Sale selfies (they are goooooorgeous), but then the Aquatalia booties in the color “herb” showed up, and they are equally as impressive.
So…I do what I always do. I try both pairs on with ALL the things and evaluate the pros and cons.

Aquatalia Vs Vince Booties: What They Have In Common
-Both are ABSOLUTELY beautiful boots
-Equally comfortable with supportive footbeds
-Nice distribution of weight with block heels
-Weatherproof
-Similar reputations from high-quality luxe brands
-Comparable pricing
Pros Of The Aquatalia Block-Heel Booties
Aquatalia | Denim | Sweater | Bag
-Polished and luxe look
-Easy to transition from casual to professional
-Modern while still maintaining a classic vibe
-Good potential (with classic vibe) as a forever-closet boot
-Side zipper (although I had no problem with the Vince boots without a zipper)
-Shorter 4 inch shaft –shows a little skin or sock with cropped denim (a plus or minus depending on your style)
Pros Of The Vince Chelsea Booties
-Super-fun to wear — makes every outfit more interesting
-Current and stylish vibe
-Nice 5-inch shaft that fits perfectly under straight/flare denim, but also good with skinnies
-Nice height (3-inch heel), but does not feel too high (great for flares)
-Edgier look with lugged sole and platform
-Color can be read in certain light as army green or brown
Several of us tried the Vince Henderson Chelsea boot, so you can also take a look at them on Kat, Julieta and Shana. Also…there are a ton of great army green boot options (besides these two) at the bottom of the post! Options in different price ranges and styles are always a good thing.

2. Army Green Booties + Light Sweaters & Blue Denim
This Vince sweater is pretty dreamy. I sized up for a slouchier fit, but TTS if you want it more fitted.

One of my favorite tops right now!

I’m not in love with this tee or the bag, but you get the idea.

5. With Other Shades of Green
I definitely like the Vince boots better here because they’re not as matchy-matchy with the sweater.

6. Army Green Booties + Black, White & A Tie Cardigan
Don’t forget, of course, to add in your favorite mask. These are soft, comfortable, and actually breathable.

The sweater below has only limited sizes, but this one in a lighter shade (and under $100) or this one in a darker shade look really pretty as well.

I haven’t decided yet which booties I’ll be wearing this fall (or if I’ll go with a green clog bootie instead), but I WILL have a green boot this fall. That’s for sure. The two I tried are on MAJOR sale in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but still on the very pricey side, so I’m including some other great green bootie options below.

So do we have any strong opinions guys? Yesterday, I was leaning toward the more classic Aquatalia…today I’m leaning toward the more fun Vince booties. I don’t think I can go wrong with either, but you know I always love hearing your opinions.

Ugh, I went to check out the dansko and none in my size! Boo! I tried the Vince, too high for me, but loving your comparison and the Aquatalia are now on my radar! thank you for doing this!
I’m loving the Vince boots! I think the taller shaft makes every outfit look cooler and sleeker. Plus I definitely think you should choose whichever boots make you feel the happiest to put on! Versatile is one thing, but if you love them, it’ll show.
Vince all the way!
I prefer the Vince booties in nearly all of your looks…I hope you pick them!
Great post! Go with Vince!
Vince. Hands down. I like the Aquatalia booties but feel like the taller shaft of the Vince boots give a fresh look to non- skinny jeans. You probably already have a pair of booties in your closet similar to the Aquatalia pair.
I prefer the Vince boots in every look except with the flares where the two boots are nearly indistinguishable.
They’re both beautiful but I prefer the look of the Vince booties 🙂
Vince FTW! 100%
Do I need another sweater or pair of booties? No I do not. Now look out—I’m going in.
P.S. Def the Vince booties.
It’s the Vince, for me! The contrast with the gore and heel feels fresher and more modern to me (without sliding into “trendy” and being impossible to wear in future seasons) and I think the higher shaft is much more flattering and easy to style with more options.
Can’t go wrong with either. To me, the Vince look a tad edgier and the taller shaft is a bonus. The Aquatalia seem a smidge more polished. Thanks for another helpful shoe post!
