Ahhh…holiday gift shopping time has arrived. I adore giving gifts and used to spend a ton of time perusing shelves for the perfect thing for each person on my list. But now, as a working mama, those hours to spend gift shopping seem to elude me. I still want to give useful, thoughtful gifts though, and the pressure is on this time of year.
I’ve been a regular shopper on eBay for years…where I find can anything from handbags to wrapping paper (see below). I love that recently they have added even more filters that make it easy to shop. I can search by shipping, return policy, new, used, Buy it Now and see reviews of the sellers easily and quickly. Did you know 69% of the items ship for free and 81% offer the Buy It Now option? You don’t have to participate in an auction for most items nows. I’ve often used eBay to find out of stock clothing items I really wanted, handbags (as I mentioned), gorgeous vintage Frye boots (you’ll see them soon!) as well as boots and coats for Sienna, because we all know how quickly they size out of those. This year I’m impressed with how many good gift items they have for the people on my list.

Easy Gifting for the Whole Family
Orvis Fishing Vest – It’s sometimes tough to buy for the sportsman in your life, but I’ve been paying attention and Pinky needs to update his fly fishing vest. There is a ton of sports gear on eBay and you can easily filter by condition, return policy, auction or buy it now, etc.
Men’s Blundstone Boots – Pinky is the hardest on shoes of any person I’ve known and he’s particular about the feel of any shoe he puts on his foot. He picks one pair and wears them out (we. are. different). It takes him a lot longer to wear out Blundstones, so we’ve just decided to stick with those for fall & winter. He’s ready for a new pair and I’m thinking we’ll go with a dressier black for work this time.
Dyson AM10 Humidifier and Fan – Apparently now I’m part amphibian after living in the NW for years and I HAVE to sleep with a humidifier to survive the winters (I avoided many colds last winter in-part due to this!) This one from Dyson is way sleeker than the giant tank I have had for the last few years AND it’s a fan (we like a fan noise at night). I’m all about downsizing the enormous appliances that take up precious floor space in our small bedroom, so, this, I’m all about. Need an air purifier instead of a humidifier? This similarly sleek purifier is on major sale right now!
Vitamix Blender – This has been on my wishlist for a couple of years. Smoothies just aren’t the same in a regular blender and you can use it to pulverize anything from sauces to soups, too. You can find overstock and refurbished items on eBay and save a decent chunk of change!
iPad Air – Our iPad is…I cannot even tell you how old. Sienna is the one that uses ours most these days and I can’t see us paying top dollar for a brand new, current version. I like that there are many refurbished options we can choose from on eBay with varying storage capacities, etc. There are reviews and ratings on all of the sellers and many have decent return policies so you can order with confidence.
Yeti 20oz Tumbler – No one in my family EVER knows what to get my stepdad. Seriously, I don’t know how many Amazon gift cards we’ve all give the man. He’s a businessman who likes…working and riding his bike. If he needs something he definitely has no patience to wait until a birthday or holiday (ain’t nobody got time for that!) so he just goes out and gets it. One thing he does do though? He goes to the coffee shop every morning bright and early and he likes his lattes extra hot. Now I can encourage him to stop buying so many throw-away cups AND assure him his coffee will be nice and piping hot for hours, all in a sleek black and chrome container. I’ll pair this with a coffee gift card or it’d be nice paired with a coffee subscription that delivers each month.
Throw Blanket (or this is similar) – What to get grandmothers, right? Of course they need a photo album of the grandchild(ren), but I always want to gift just a little bit more. A gorgeous, cozy throw is the perfect gift-addition to add to the special photo albums and handmade artwork. Nonna will be able to cozy up with this as she comments how “that’s so Sienna Wren” and “I can’t believe how much she’s grown this year!” x 100.
Play Tent – I’ve never gotten one of these for Sienna and I just loved this black and white striped version (of course I did). I think it’d be great to get her a little bean bag chair and a basket for books to foster her love of reading now that she’s learned how! This one is so reasonable and will look adorable anywhere in the house.
