Reformation’s Plus-Size Line: A Review

Since I started working with TME, I’ve heard so many great things about Reformation. Much of the team love their dresses and have raved about the quality of their clothes. So in my typical fashion, I ordered just about everything from their curvy collection, and I have thoughts..lots of them in fact.

First of all, I love that Reformation is sustainable. It’s the first sustainable brand I’ve found to sell extended sizes! They have ethical sourcing efforts and use recycled materials to design their clothes. One of the fabrics they use is sourced from eucalyptus with a similar feel to Rayon — this uses 80% less water than cotton and other fabrics.

Reformation Extended-Size Dresses: The Sustainable Brand Brings Their A-Game

Reformation also strives to show their clothing on a variety of different models, of varying heights and sizes. I really appreciate that they’re taking the time to create clothes that fit all body sizes. That said, I did find that the sizing to be somewhat strange. Some items were too big, some were perfect and a few were just too snug. This is typical, however, with many brands, especially when the design of each item is so unique. Regardless, I had a ton of fun trying on some things that I wouldn’t normally gravitate to.

The one area where Reformation really shines – the area I would 100% recommend, is Reformation dresses. I found the quality to be amazing, and they’ve mastered the perfect slit. (In theory, this sounds like something that would be easy, but these dresses are the first I’ve found with just the right amount of material for a super-sexy slit that doesn’t show your entire thigh.) These dresses bring their A-Game — I personally think they’re worth the investment!

I’m sharing a few of my favorite dresses below, plus some bonus pieces that are definitely worth an honorable mention…

The Reformation Dottie Dress (Extended Sizes)

This dress is what date night dreams are made of. It’s comfort-meets-sexy and hits my body in all the right places. I love the square neckline and the slit is perfect, too! What I find interesting about this dress is that you can wear it both as a square neckline or easily pull the sleeves down for an off-the-shoulder look. Ninety percent of the dress is TENCEL Lyocell fabric, which is the material made from eucalyptus. This dress was my absolute fav. It’s a total keeper for me.

The Reformation Rowan Dress (Extended Size)

If there were ever a dress made for a picturesque spring picnic, this would be it. This dress features slightly puffed sleeves, a ruffled bodice, and a modest thigh slit on the side of your leg. This dress is 100% Viscose (Rayon) that is sourced from sustainably managed forests. Reformation partners with a non-profit organization called Canopy to ensure that their materials are ethically sourced and manufactured. This dress is definitely an investment piece, but the quality of the design and the fit are so worth it!

The Reformation Seville Dress (Extended Sizes)

Remember our last TME Slip Dress Style Challenge?! Well, if you’ve been looking for a great slip dress since…this is it! I tried it on in black and LOVED it! I will say it did run on the shorter side for me, but the dress feels so great on your skin. It’s also available in this beautiful pattern that is a total stunner. I will note that this dress runs on the smaller end in terms of sizing. I’m wearing it in a 3x.

The Reformation Monica Dress (Extended Sizes)

I had to share this dress because the fit didn’t work for me at all. I love the color and the long-sleeves, but everything else? Just too tight. Right now, the exact dress that I tried on is out of stock, but the updated spring version is a total cutie with short sleeves and a flowy, emerald fabric. If the sizing were better, this would have been a contender for me.

The Reformation Long Sleeve Crop Top

I live for a good crop top, and this was one of the pieces I was so excited about when I initially made my Ref order. I ordered this in a size 2X and didn’t think going down a size would work for my arms. While the sizing ultimately didn’t work, the material has a great feel and I love that uber-cute tie in the front!
