Hooray! February is almost over. It’s my least favorite month, especially since I moved to West Michigan, and this is easily the coldest and snowiest time of our year. When February ends, I always celebrate because spring is surely right around the corner (even as I write this in the midst of an epic ice storm).
Shopping for some cute spring tops reminds me that winter will actually end and warmer temps will be here soon.

And what better way to summon springtime than by figuring out what to wear when the sun starts shining and the snow melts? I’ve been on the hunt for cute, affordable tops to wear with jeans this spring, and let’s just say I’ve had some major success (and most are under $100). Keep scrolling for my entire try-on.
8 Cute Spring Tops That Look Amazing With Wide-Leg Jeans: A Try-On
When it comes to spring tops, I can’t help but love a good romantic vibe. Think: sweetheart necklines, puff sleeves, and lots of corset styling. And right now, so many of my favorite affordable brands like Gap, Abercrombie, Free People and Etsy are coming through with some of the cutest springy options.

The best part? They all look amazing with my beloved MOTHER The Maven Heel wide-leg jeans. So if you haven’t gotten those yet…I’d highly recommend them.
But first, a quick sizing note on the jeans I’m wearing throughout this post. MOTHER’s The Maven Heel jeans have a 12-inch rise and a 34-inch inseam. For reference, I’m 5’7″, and these have quickly become the most flattering pair of jeans I own.
1. Gap Puff-Sleeve Sweetheart Crop Top

I’ve been a huge fan of GAP lately (frankly, the entire TME team is too). It’s making my ’90s pre-teen heart super-happy and not to mention my wallet. This white puff-sleeve sweetheart crop top also comes in black (which I also have) and olive. (P.S. These often go on sale! yay!)
I found this top to run a little small in the chest area, so if you’re a fellow big-chested gal, make sure to size up!
2. ASTR the Label Cardiff Top

I love everything about the style of this ASTR the Label Cardiff top that I found while perusing one of my favorite websites, Revolve. It’s one of my go-to sites for cute tops. I can’t help but love all of the feminine and flirty options in a wide variety of prices — from affordable to designer. Heads-up, this adorable gingham top is on sale at the moment! So RUN.

3. Gap Puff-Sleeve Denim Smocked Peplum Top
Another MAJOR score from Gap is this super-comfortable, stretchy and smocked denim peplum top. I’ve been playing around with the denim-on-denim trend more and more lately because it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. This is the first time I’ve paired two different denim washes together, and I actually like how they look!

4. Abercrombie Ruched Puff-Sleeve Sweetheart Top

After all these years, when it comes to cute and affordable tops, Abercrombie & Fitch is still one of my go-to brands. This puff-sleeve sweetheart top is exactly the right mix of romantic and cute that I love for spring outfits. And that color goes just perfectly with the MOTHER jeans.
5. Abercrombie Corset Slim Sweater Top
Julieta is the inspiration behind my purchase of this Abercrombie brown corset-style sweater. She always looks amazing in brown (Exhibit A).
I love how this slim top looks with these wide-leg jeans and my Converse high-tops, and although I don’t usually wear much brown, I definitely will be in the future!

6. Free People Jaydon Striped T-Shirt
What I want and what I need are two VERY different things. I can’t say no to a pretty, feminine top (obviously), but what I really need are comfy tees for day-to-day life.
Needless to say, I was VERY happy to find this oversized cropped tee from Free People. It’s the perfect cropped length, especially with these high-waisted, wide-leg jeans. It creates a flattering silhouette and accentuates my curves, while also being the comfiest tee I’ve worn in a LONG time.

7. Etsy Vintage Quilted Top
It’s no secret that I’ve been obsessed with the quilted trend for a loooong time now (see my Etsy Holiday Gift Guide), and honestly, this quilted top I bought on Etsy has been one of my most-worn tops for the last six months or so. It’s so comfortable, like a hug from grandma, and fits perfectly. Handmade quilted tops on Etsy are usually made from vintage quilts and are well worth the money.

8. TA3 Swim Lifty Bodysuit/Corset
“Lifty” swimsuit/bodysuit (M, TTS) | jeans (28, TTS) | Boots (7.5, TTS)
I actually discovered the TA3 brand via Instagram and was immediately impressed by its videos showing cute tops and bodysuits with shapewear-like results. The Lifty bodysuit is surprisingly chic, and the fitted silhouette pairs nicely with the wide-leg jeans. TA3 also makes swimwear and even dresses, so you can believe I will definitely be ordering more from them in the future.
Happy (almost) spring, ya’ll! Until next time.
