3 Gorgeous Dresses At Anthropologie (To Feel Like An At-Home Goddess)

Since March, I’ve been dreaming of going home to Colombia for a month — or two! — around the holidays. I figured if my 2nd grader was doing hybrid school, I could do full distance learning for a while. It’s the same time zone, I have my whole family there to help with the kids, and I could do some work from there. It all sounded so easy…until I actually started planning it.

Ron and I sat for hours and discussed until I, with tears in my eyes, said: no Colombia this year. Hopefully, yes, for my sister’s wedding next year.

So how are we celebrating the holidays? Same as every year we stay here. We don’t have a big group of friends. When we stay, it’s usually a casual at-home party with my in-laws—the opposite of our holidays in Colombia with my big family. Happily, for Thanksgiving, we’ll have my mom and my sister — who decided to come after I told them we were not going home.

But whether it’s a small or big celebration, I like to feel special. My go-to for years has been a pretty maxi or midi dress. They allow me to eat, be comfortable…but still feel like a goddess at the same time. And as an added bonus? My Farm Rio dress above & my ribbed maxi are both on major sale right now!

Side note: THANK YOU for your fantastic response to my bilingual (Español / English) post talking 13 ways to style faux-leather pants. I promise there will be more of those. They take longer to complete, so we’re getting the hang of them.

This dress makes me feel like a goddess. The colors, attention to detail, and more importantly, how I feel when I put it on can’t be described. It’s stunning. This is the dress if you want to treat yourself, so go and take advantage of that sale!

Sizing: I’d say it runs slightly big. I’m between sizes and went for the size down. It was perfect. Very forgiving in the midsection, and I think it can work for a pregnant belly. I’m wearing petite sizing.

While it is on the body-conscious side, it felt less conscious than other dresses of the same type. You can always wear light control shapewear under. The knit is very substantial and warm. I also ditched the belt it came with for a thin leather belt to give the dress a more sophisticated and expensive vibe.

Sizing: I went a size up to be more comfortable and have some room, and I’m glad I did. I’m wearing petite sizing.

It was the colors for me. Whenever I find something that fits my personal color palette so easily, I need to have it. This is the dress I first saw, wanted, and had to click “check out” in a matter of minutes. Probably the one to blame for this post. The sleeves look weird all down, so I use these sleeve holders, but other than that, the fit is great, and you’ll feel stylish without sacrificing comfort.

Sizing: Reviews say sleeves can be tight, I’m between sizes, and the size down was definitely tight on arms and across the chest, but the size up was perfect with the sleeve holders.

Which was your favorite?

Find a color you love and makes you glow and rock these holidays in the best possible way. I’ll be kicking those heels away and will either stay barefoot — which I love — or with cozy slippers.
