Sick of joggers?? Never! OK…maybe sometimes. I mean, I’ll never be totally over joggers (they got us through 2020, right?) but there are times when I want to throw on a suuuuper soft pair of pants, but be able to dress them up a bit for…you know…actually leaving the house. Like joggers, but not…joggers.
Cute As Jeans, Comfy As Joggers. The J.Crew Seaside Linen Pants Are SO Good
I bought a pair of J.Crew’s Seaside Pants last year and LOVED them. They’ve been making these pants since 2015 — and for good reason. They’re incredibly comfortable and versatile. You can wear them to the beach with a bikini just as easily as you can wear them to dinner with heels.
10 Ways To Style Army Green Linen Pants
These linen pants come in a bunch of fun colors and in three different lengths for the perfect size. And while this year’s iteration is just a tad different from last year (they swapped the zipper for a drawstring waist and changed the pocket style), these are still great go-to pants for spring, summer and even fall. Here are a few ways I’m wearing them.
1. Pair With A Simple Button-Up
pants | shirt | shoes (similar)
I love this versatile shirt from Banana Republic. It’s cute tucked in with black pants, tied up with jeans, or left loose like this and will be perfect this spring and summer.
2. Top Off With A Cute Denim Jacket
pants | similar shirt | jacket | mules
I love ABLE’s entire business philosophy (they’re an ethical fashion brand that employs and empowers women as a solution to end poverty) but am especially obsessed with their denim jackets. The one I’m wearing above comes in white and my favorite denim jacket of all time is their Merly Jacket. I love supporting such a great company.
3. Make A Statement With An Oversized Blazer
pants | shirt | similar blazer | similar sandals
This blazer is a couple of years old now, but I’m still digging the oversized fit. Laura found a similar blazer at Madewell she loves (and it’s on sale, and comes in standard and plus sizes). I love adding strappy heels to an otherwise pretty casual look like this.
4. Don A Silky Cami (& Cardigan) For A Night Out
pants | cami | similar cardigan | sandals
I finally bit the bullet and bought one of those CAMI NYC tops Shana is always talking about…and OMG. I’m going to wear it with all the things this spring and summer. And by all the things I literally mean everything from sweatpants and joggers to denim shorts and everything in between. SO GOOD.
5. Warm It Up With Boots & A Sweater
pants | crewneck | studded boots | turtleneck | boots
It’s still cold enough here that this outfit would totally work right now, but it would also be great for transitioning into fall…add a cute coat and scarf, and you’re good to go!
6. Keep It Simple With A Bodysuit
pants | bodysuit | similar shoes
I wasn’t sure if the pants would work with a bodysuit, but I kind of like the slightly lower rise without having to tuck anything in. This bodysuit is cozy and comfy for cooler weather, but come summer this one would look awesome.
7. Go Monochromatic With A Matching Cami
top left: pants | tank | sandals
top right: pants | cami | similar jacket | shoes
When I was trying all of these outfits on, I realized that this tank was like the perfect similar-but-not-exact shade of green. It’s one of my all-time favorite tops for summer because of the perfect drape and high-neck. (I thought adding the same shade of jacket might be a bridge too far, so I just added another bright cami underneath.)
8. Add An Off-the-Shoulder Top
left: pants | off shoulder sweater | similar sandals
right: pants | similar off shoulder tee | similar flats
If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know how much I love my off-the-shoulder tops. These are perfectly slouchy and would still look great with pretty bralette straps peeking out if you don’t love wearing strapless bras. (But if you do, this one is my current favorite.)
9. Pop On A Fun Top For A Girls’ Night
left: pants | tee | sandals
right: pants | similar tee | similar sandals
Not exactly a fancy blouse, but just a fun way to dress up the pants. Lacy sleeves, drapey wrap tops…I’m all about the little details this summer.
10. Keep It Casual With A T-Shirt
left: pants | tee | sneakers
right: pants | tee | Birkenstocks
I mean if all else fails, go with your favorite t-shirt and sneakers…or Birkenstocks. (I swear this copper pair sells out every single year; I wear mine with pretty much everything.)
Now the real question, which color Seaside pants should I get this year? I’m trying decide between the chambray and the bright pink…thoughts?
Thanks for reading!
XOXO,
Scotti
I love these! I have pairs from last year and the year before, the questions is which color for this year!!
OK Scotti–I have put an NYC Cami in and out of my cart a million times! Mostly because of the bra situation…I hate strapless bras–frankly gravity takes hold when your over 50 and I’m a 36 D and always prefer an underwire bandeau minimizer if I have to wear a strapless and I fear it is going to show on the sides and in front on this top. What do you do for a bra? Adore these camis! I have the seaside pants in 3 colors–size down ladies, they STRETCH out bigtime.
