I came home this afternoon to the biggest delivery we’ve ever had…and that’s saying something, folks. Everything I ordered from the sale that had been delayed due to weather problems AND everything I’ve been ordering since (especially as I read some of my friends’ posts–thank you Laura and Emily) was delivered TODAY. (Our delivery drivers deserve a raise.) 

My mom was here helping me open, unpack and organize all-of-the-things (and trying lots of them on herself–her favorite pick is below!) so I could get this post out to you guys by the time the sale opens to the public.

And now, here are my top picks for the Public Sale! (I had my family pick their favorites, too–scroll to the bottom for those!) 

1. Black Cardigans

Apparently I really, really like black cardigans. They’re like the comfy version of the moto jackets I love so much. My favorite was the same Vince wool & cashmere cardigan that Linzi loved. It really is that good (I’m actually wearing it now over my pjs as I type this… so cozy and comfy). In her words “so beautiful in person, and so completely luxurious.”  Totally.

My second favorite was the Halogen Open Front Pocket Cardigan (below, top left). I’m wearing an XXSP, which is in no way my normal size–I actually bought this for my mom (she’s itty bitty) and tried it on. I liked the shrunken way it fit! It wasn’t overly bulky or too long…I’m going to go ahead and buy another one for myself since she liked it too and I don’t want to steal it from her. (It’s still in stock in multiple colors and sizes.). I haven’t decided which of the rest I’m keeping…but black cardigans are pretty dang versatile.

2. These Amazing Good American Jeans

I accidentally ordered the Good Legs fit (see them here) and then ordered my tried-and-true favorite fit—Good Waist. I just like these better. They have a slightly higher rise, are a bit shorter (makes a huge difference on my 5’4″ frame) and the wash is just a tad darker. I mean, ultimately Good American makes the BEST jeans for curvy figures so either way you can’t go wrong–and the stock changes every single time I look, so keep watching if your favorite size is sold out. (A note about sizing: they say size 0-6 run big, but I don’t agree…I’m wearing the 4s here and might need to go with my regular 6 for a more comfortable fit.)

3. This Soft Drapey Jacket From ALLSAINTS

This ALLSAINTS jacket is such a good find! I love the color and it is SO soft–it does run big, so size down. I’m wearing a 2 here and should have gone with a 0–waaaay smaller than my usual size. The ties along the sides make it easy to create the right drape and it’s a great lightweight option. (Also in a gorgeous dark red for fall.)

4. This Vince Wool & Cashmere Mock Neck Sweater 

This is such a versatile sweater. It’s thin and lightweight but super-warm, and the neck is the perfect length–not super-high up on your neck, but higher than a typical mock neck. I love the cream color because it goes with everything–and in my case, most everything in my closet is shades of black and grey. 

At Work

When paired with these J. Crew stretch pants, it’s the perfect work outfit (whether you work in an office or at home). I threw on these red pumps because–COLOR–and I love the shape of them!

And At Play

I threw on these leggings thinking I’d have to find a different sweater to put over them (bum coverage and all), but these leggings are different. They’re ponte leggings, which means they’re thicker and more substantial than other leggings–they provide more coverage and kind of hold everything in and smooth everything out. Cellulite is definitely less noticeable in these! (They’re from Spanx, so it makes sense, right?)  

By the way, this jacket? Is different from anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a water-resistant moto-bomber jacket you can workout in. I can’t decide if I love it, but I think I might…it just has that weird polyurethane smell that I’d love to get rid of somehow. And the boots?? What do we think of the boots? I’m not really a “combat boots” girl, but this color might have me convinced otherwise. I love the height and shape of the heel, so let me know what you guys think!

5. Get This Budget-Friendly Sweater

This sweater doesn’t feel like your typical budget-friendly sweater. It’s silky and stretchy and layers beautifully under a moto jacket (or black cardigan!). It’s not totally cropped, but it hits at the “natural waist,” which makes it perfect for pairing with high-waisted jeans. It comes in a bunch of colors, but I’m loving this red that’s perfect for fall.

6. My Favorite PJs Of All-Time

If you don’t have these pajamas, get them. They are incredibly soft, SO comfy, and they wash (and dry) really well. They run slightly big, but I kind of like that (especially for pjs).  They’re worth every penny even at full-price, so get them on sale while you can! (I may or may not have purchased multiple pairs as Christmas gifts this year.)

7. My At-Home Fall Uniform: Leggings, UGGS & A Cozy Sweatshirt

I almost didn’t get these Zella leggings–I already have the Live In High Waist version, so I didn’t need another pair, right? Wrong! These are amazing…they’re not as thick as the live-in ones, and are a bit less constricting. The length is shorter (7/8) and there’s a pocket that my phone actually fits in (iPhone X)—not that I need my phone on me all the time, but if I’m going to have pockets on my leggings they should probably be big enough to hold it! I will wear these allll the time this fall.  

And I pretty much always take advantage of the sale for UGGS…they’re kind of a must-have up here. I like the hidden wedges on these and after years of getting my typical black and gray I wanted to go back to the original chestnut brown. (My mom saw them and promptly asked me to order a pair for her.)

More #NSale Picks: My Undecideds

 This Tumi Backpack…

I was disappointed by the color of this Tumi backpack (it looked warmer in the picture online), but the size and shape is perfect. The front pockets are big enough for my phone, and my laptop fits perfectly into the laptop sleeve (they’re often too small for the bigger Macs) without the overall size of the backpack being too overwhelming. I know Tumi’s quality is amazing, too…so how do we feel about the color? (It also comes in a bright red that might be fun.)

9….And These Satin Joggers

I bought these in both the small and the medium and neither fit perfectly. The small was too small in the hips and butt (no surprise there) and the medium is too long. They are super-soft and thicker than I expected (I was worried because satin can be super unforgiving), but I think I just feel “meh” about them… that green color is gorgeous, though. What do you guys think? (They look ahhh-mazing on Cam, but she’s–ahem–a bit taller than I am.)
